Lescott will look for a move in the next year, if not this year.

If City get CL this year, as if he's going to hang around here.

Then what? Gary Cahill could have a great season, Bolton say £20million or go 'uck yourself, Hangeland goes to Arsenal. Who do we buy?

Lescott isn't loyal to our club, he's not a blue, he'll go to City any day of the week for £90k.

So if you think he'll still be here in 7 years, then I'm just shocked tbh.
Are you listening to yourself?

You're saying Lescott isn't a blue.. well neither is Cahill.

You say that Lescott won't be here for 7 years but are sure that Cahill will be?

I give up. There is no reasoning with someone that is this closeminded.

You believe other clubs will sell their players to us for sums that you want. And when others try and point out to you that they won't do that, you go and say that those people talk out of their arse or talk bollocks.
You want us to weaken our defence just to get a better offense. An offense that scored 55 goals in the league, only 5 teams scored more in the league. And that with us playing without a real striker for a large part of the season.
We win games due to our defence being one of the best in the league, you want to destroy that just to get an extra £4M in?

:toilet:

It is possible and Lescott is replaceable. You could always loan someone like Armand Traore for left back cover, a player who can also cover left midfield. Even Michael Ball is available, not brilliant but capable cover.

It's just not a risk that Moyes would be willing to take at this time in the window, he knows how [Poor language removed] we are at signing players as it is. There just isn't enough time really. If it was earlier on in the transfer window and we had got hold of Naughton then he might have considered letting Joleon go, not now though.

Buy Hangeland or Cahill for £12-15m, forget about a LB and enjoy £4m extra

Nah I think you'll find I said Ball for left back cover, and the £4million + the (about) £6million we would already have to spend.

If Lescott wanted to stay, why hasn't he said?

Cahill knows what Everton's about, he even said he'd never go to Liverpool - he's as much of a blue as anyone in our team.

exactly, hangeland and ball, we said to find two players equal to or better than, I'd maybe accept slightly worse for a big windfall in cash... but Hangeland or Cahill £12-15m, and then BALL?! get lost

But they want £14m for this Hangeland waste of space. Hes not even that good, I dont get it. Hes big and strong, but even Hibbert is a better defender than him.

And Cahill is unkown, if both of these players could be picked up for £5-6m I would say maybe.

And im sorry, but Michael Ball is not a replacement for anybody, never mind Baines or Lescott.

So again, replace Lescott and still have money have left over, that we can use.

OK, let me put this question to you.

1st game of the season, Baines - broken leg. 7 months out.

Lescott, go and play left back son. But boss, who's going to play centre half?

Oh [Poor language removed] yeah, I forgot we haven't got Senderos yet.

So who do we play? How about a left back cover who isn't also our 'ucking centre half ffs.

No chance.

I think some of you need to look at yourselves and make peace with the fact that you are not even remotely qualified to decide whether Michael Ball would be a good left-back cover, or Joleon Lescott could leave and we bring in two players to cover him.

A lot of you are fantasising, if it was that easy you'd be doing Moyes' job.

There's a reason Lescott played yesterday, and a reason two bids have been rejected, Moyes doesn't want him to leave, simple, it's that easy. There's no double meaning, no cloak and dagger, he doesn't want to weaken the side, is that so hard to understand?

I wish people would stop trying to replace him already with Cahill, Hangeland et al...

I think you'd also find if, and it's an IF, Lescott did leave, you are kidding yourselves if you think we'd get the whole fee for Moyes' kitty.

Not a chance.

It's time for some of you to smell the coffee, we have a league opener in 7 days, have two fit central defenders and you want to sell one of them and hope we can agree a fee to bring a replacement in as well as a below par left-back who has been without a club all summer (Ball).

Yes that's ambitious isn't it.

Get real!

Instead of wasting your time salivating over the 'Lescott money' concentrate on areas of the squad that actually need improving... I'm bored of this thread.

Thats why Moyes is buying another CB.

Same question to you, Baines breaks his leg and we gotta play Michael frigging Ball all season, he cant play that many games, hes a crock as it is.

Cos uve just sold Lescott and we got some dodgy lanky streak of crap called Hangeland.

Alot of us?! theres only one going on.

And Azzbot, we could easily get Ball as emergency cover without selling Lescott anyway, weak argument

And if we do have Senderos by then...? Oh wait that'd shatter your convenient little tale, shame.

It's more likely we wont to be honest.

It's not even nailed on we'll get him. It's just another player we've had talks with.

Cahill > Senderos.

If Moyes sold Lescott for £20million, and Bill didn't give it him all, Moyes is gone. End of.
