They would need to add 10mil to land him. Why sell him unless its a deal we cant refuse?

here here

richards has gone off the boil of late think the lad started to belive his own hype

think moyes could be the man to bring him down a peg or two though and get him back on track

10m + richards and i wouldn't feel so bad about losing lescott

I'd value Richards at about 5m after the way he's been performing recently so £15m + Richards absolute minimum, still wouldn't accept it personally but hey ho

If they were offering Richards id say put £15 million on top of that! Richards and Wright-Philips on the other hand...

Wether Lescott goes is his choice, personally, i think he would go without a moments hesitation.

Now if Richards is part of the deal its not that bad, alot of potential, and he has only had one bad season, he hsouldnt be written off. I just question his attitude, does he have the right attitude for Everton?

But i wouldnt mind a back line of Richards - Yobo - Jagielka - Baines.

simple enough answer, if he looks at the absurd money that city are throwing at him, realizes that it would be career suicide to take it and opts to stay at everton on substantially lower wages, he indeed has the right attitude. he obviously cares deeply about the club, his comments before the FA cup about how he doesn't care what anyone outside of the club and its fan base think showed me that clearly.

personally if the only issue is whether or not he wants to leave, i can't see him leaving.

and besides, they would atleast need to offer us a centre back with jagielka injured, it seems like a terrible idea to sell him now of all times.

edit: sorry didn't read your post correctly, i thought you were asking if lescott had the attitude to stay at everton at first. to answer your real question, no richards does not have the attitude we want.

Shock, horror, a player admits that money talks....

(y)

If I was working for a company who paid me £20,000 a year - and a foreign company offered me £40,000 a year to do the exact same job - I would want to move too. I take it I am a mercenary?

He has said he would remain at Rennes - the club he has been with since 2004 - if they matched Evertons wage offer. Fair enough I say. Refreshing to see a player being honest for a chance, rather than the typical B/S about "I want to go and play in a more competitive league" etc or, the Gareth Barry excuse "I want to play in the Champions League", or Steven Gerrards "I want to win the Premier League" excuse for handing in a transfer request. Such excuses sound better than "I want more money" - doesn't it?

i have no problem with him wanting more money, it was the way he changed his tune. He started out saying that he simply wanted to play for everton, he mentioned that it was a great opportunity, there was nothing about money in it. Then later on he changed to saying that if his current club offered him the same money he would stay, meaning the stuff about it being an opportunity wasn't his primary concern like he said it was.

think about it, if steven pienaar repeatedly said he wanted to play for a la liga team that was interested in him, citing his ambitions as a reason (quote m'bia "they must understand me. I am very ambitious.")then later when it looked like a deal was becoming less likely, he instead said match the potential wages and i'll say, how would you look at him? i would certainly lose respect for him, and i'm sure saying that you want to move on from a team publicly and repeatedly and then staying because they offer you more money would certainly cause some unrest in the dressing room.

its one thing for a player to ask for higher wages, but he used us a bargaining chip to get them, i don't know about you but that upsets me for sure. i could be wrong about him, but i really wouldn't want to see him do the same thing to us if he does come good and the big 4 come calling

He started the season badly, didn't finish too good, but was excellent in between. He is a quality player, casual at times but a class defender who is versatile and can add a few goals as well. I wouldn't be happy to see him go for less than 20mill (didn't MU pay £33mill for Rio????)

He's not the same player without Jags beside him - Yobo doesn't bail him out like Jags does

Yep. We may have been Everton fans for (in my case) 40+ years who (in my case again) work for Royal Mail but Joleon is a Villa fan who works for Everton (just as Rooney is an Everton fan who works for manure) but who may soon be a Villa fan who works for Citeh for double the money. Remember that a serious injury could end a football career early and all footballers are not Alan Brazils with future careers in broadcasting, so it's a case of making hay while the sun shines.

Also, DM would bring the best out of Richards.

IMO only sell him for 30m + Richards.

Richards is an England capped player who can play right and centre back. Therefore at the start of the season we can play...

Neville Yobo Richards Baines...

Doesn't look too convincing but it'll have to do, then when Jags is back move Richards to right back.

I'm slightly surprised that there hasn't been speculation about Jagielka to United, he was a United fan and Ferdinand is getting on a bit... hopefully we won't see anything about this...

The 30m (cutting player wages etc) we get should be used as...

Moutinho - 15m
Veloso - 8m
Nani - loan

Then we have...

-------------------24.Howard-------------------
18.Nevile----6.Jagielka-------4.Yobo-----3.Baines
--------------------16.Veloso------------------
10.Arteta-----------7.Moutinho--------20.Pienaar
-----------------17.Cahill-----------------------
------------------------22.Yakubu--------------

Then we have on the bench:
1. Nash
5. Richards
21. Osman
25. Fellaini
11. Nani
9. Saha
14. Vaughan

And in reserve:
26. Rodwell
23. Gosling
28. Anichebe
15. Jacobsen
2. Hibbert

Lescott stays you dont sell your quality, i dont care if we dont sign anyone, the most important thing this summer is none of our squad leave. End of.

So, Moyes would accept an 18 million offer if it came but wouldn't force Lescott out. And I would be extremely surprised if he didn't take the offer. Who wouldn't if your salary doubled?

That's wheeling and dealing for you.

Tick tock...

"Fcuk off Joleon lad, you Judas cnut".

...and so it begins.
Yeah, and when Moyes buys someone for xx million, the same idiots tell how we again spent big money on players, so why do you need rich owners?
