You think we can't add a net boost of quality to our squad with the 20 mil we get from Joleon then you're bonkers.

Bought him for 5 million, got 3 good seasons out of him, sell him on for 300% profit, thankyou very much. Go buy Carvalho for 5 mil, get him for a few years, put the rest on young right backs / midfielders.

World doesn't revolve around Joleon Lescott. He's not Jesus.

Can we pretend he is so we can sign Kaka.

For £20 m. I'd sell, Yobo is a great replacement, perhaps even throw Rodwell in as CB, and use the money to buy both Moutinho and Veloso. That IMO would be using the money to strengthening the team.

Hes not the Messiah, hes just a very talented boy.

Cant replace quality, its really that simple.

We are building a team that has quality throughout it- why sell one of our best players?! Yes we can replace him but will they be as good as him?!

People get blinded by the lights of foreign players that look [Poor language removed] hot in Spain or Italy but when they get here they dont cut the mustard. Its the fastest most physical league in the world and Lescott is a top defender within that league.

We've had lots of talk of Moutinho- he looks the bollocks but in reality he is very slight and not very tall. Would he get bullied all over the place in this league? Maybe.

Keep Lescott hes quality, lets build and not demolish.

Then the question arises - with what money? Some time we are going to have to sell a big player to get players such as Moutinho. There is no way we are going to get him, and other, and keep our top players.

I agree with 90% of what your saying, The Mout is small, but he fights like a Lion, he might take time to settle, but hes utter class, class shines.

But there is no point in selling Lescott for £xx. As you say hes a top player in a top league, we are meant to be a top club. Surely top clubs dont sell their best players.

When did we become Wigan?

Well then, it kills me to write this, but in that case we dont buy Moutinho, as much as I love The Mout, I would not wish to lose Lescott or any other of our top players in order to get him.

But it shouldnt be that way, we are a top club, with high league placings, long runs in cups, high attendances.

We should be putting in bids for Kaka and unsettling Messi. And buying 4 Moutinhos.

Why can't someone just buy us out?

Then all this would be resolved.

The fact that a lot of clubs seem to want him should tell you how valuable he is. Go on a lot of forums who need defenders, and hes the first name they mention.
Thats the reason why i want him to stay, we need to add quality to the squad not lose it.

I stopped reading at this point because it's all that needs said

We will spend between £25m- £35m this summer. That is fine in my eyes- add quality where its needed and get rid of players that arent needed.

Lescott is young, solid and now an experienced Premiership player that can play in a second position if needed (left back) Lets not sell him and replace with some foreign no mark that may not cut it.

I honestly think if we can keep our current squad together and three quality signings we could be up in that top 4 next season.
