Tbf he hadn't played a competitive match against Barnsley since he left either - Rooney is usually dreadful against us, wouldn't be that surprising if John had the same type of issue going back to his boyhood club even without the rest of the drama.

Next match will be telling. If he puts in a good performance against Chelsea I'll consider the whole drama water under the bridge. I have a feeling he will, he's a true professional.
