John Stones

My view has changed since last summer when i wanted 100% Stones to stay at everton. Our defence has let in so many goals this season i think selling Stones for 30 m++, buying a good defender for 15m then we get 15m++ extra funding to contribute to getting a world class attacking midfielder player...is the way to go. If he wants to stay fine, but if he wants to go fine!

But there is no need to say he wants to stay or wants to go either way. There just isn't.

Rom hasn't said he wants to stay. Or Barkley or anybody else...

He doesn't have to tell us anything. He has no obligation to do so.

In the club's mind he's our player and his request got turned down.

Coming out and saying 'I want to stay' and then being sold two months later wouldn't help anybody either
True, but neither of those handed in a transfer request.

I have to agree with those saying he's 100% off if someone comes in for him. Might sound an obvious statement, but there is no doubt his stock will have fallen a touch.

If Utd/Chelsea/City/Arsenal/Spurs come in then he's gone imo.

I'm not saying he isn't mate my point is that he's shown no indication he 'wants' to go by playing badly.

His form isn't because he doesn't want to be at the club - that would be stupid as he needs first team football to guarantee a starting place at the Euros.

He's just hit a bad spell of form.

CBA with people saying

'get rid, he wants out,' etc etc

If he wants out get rid!

If he wants out get rid!

But there's no evidence he does other than a transfer request 7 months ago that was scrapped up and declined and the club issued the statement.

That's it.

He hasn't been in poor form (well, he's been injured, but had a shaky 3 (only 3) games before that) because he wants out - that would do him no good purely from a selfish view point as it would effect his chances of a better move/the Euros.

He's a young player who went through a trikcy patch of form and an injury and we've got fans jumping on his back claiming that it's because he doesn't want to be here.

TBH I can't blame him if he didn't...

He was superb from September through to December - not exactly indicative of somebody who 'doesn't want to be here'...

For what it's worth, I do think he'll leave in the summer. That doesn't mean he's playing badly because he doesn't want to be here.

If he's sold it'll be because the club get a suitable offer. Simple.

Willing to take you up on that bet mate. Transfer request incoming. His head has been elsewhere all season. Only a top Manager arrival may persuade him to stay for me.

I think he'll go mate. I think he may hand in a request.

My point is he's not playing badly because he doesn't want to be here. He's had a rough patch of form and that was it...

If he stays he stays. If he goes he goes. I'll be gutted to lose him but it happens and we'll get a more than fair price.

His performances in the first half of the season prove his head hasn't been elsewhere though mate.

Just another example of John 'big time Charlie' Stones...

‘I only had John for the few months before I left Everton but he was a great boy. Bright, alert, a bit of a glint in his eye. I remember the fitness coach telling me he’d gone to him and said he would do whatever he told him if it meant it would make him a better player. Very impressive.’

Good read that @davek
Come home David, we forgive you.

‘He wasn’t going to be too expensive but he was really good on the ball,’ says Moyes. ‘He was versatile. I think he could even play as a central midfield player, which might be something England should consider at some point.

LOL

That's about the only thing that ginger Judas got right in that piece.

Lolling at him for gegging in on every news story - he'll be walking round Preston wearing a sandwich board soon.

Hoofball merchant found out big time and now trying to suggest he can bring young players through in order to get re-hired. Hilarious.

You think like David Moyes, David.
