John Stones

We might be lucky. If he is a good enough right back (and let's face it Hibbo isn't getting any younger and picks up more injuries now that he used to) then perhaps Moyes wants to play him with Coleman in front of him, same as Baines and Peinaar on the left.
That would give quite a bit of pace on both flanks (which we haven't had for a few years now) and should see some supply to Jelavic up front. Possibly then add Mirallas up front also (or just behind Jelavic where he can use some of his pace) and Fellaini and Osman in the centre of midfield. Oh, wait...no room for Neville??

Too soon for that I'm sure. You could play either with a more experienced player in tandem, but one still relatively inexperienced player and a youngster with only 20 apps is asking for trouble. As bad as our right side is with Nev/Nais there that is not the answer yet. Imo Jags has done alright there his last couple games. Shame Jonny had that balls up in the last game cos I thought he did well apart from that.

If this kid wanted football and didn't come for money, hes wrecked his career.

See you in 2years mate.
He looks like a nice lad aswell!

Barnsley boss raving about Stones in tomorrow's paper - THE BEST YOUNG FOOTBALLER IN ENGLAND TODAY.

Teen spirit: Barnsley boss tells Everton John Stones is best youngster in England

2 Feb 2013 22:28
'There is nobody out there as good as John, and that is why clubs were *prepared to pay £3million for him' says David Flitcroft

David Flitcroft has told Everton they have signed England’s best young *right-back in John Stones.

But Barnsley boss Flitcroft has admitted that selling Stones was “like losing a member of your own *family”.

Goodison chief David Moyes completed a *£3million swoop for Stones, 18, after monitoring the Barnsley-born prospect’s progress since the start of the season.

And he beat off fierce competition from Premier League rivals Wigan, *Southampton and Fulham to snare the teenager just hours before the transfer window slammed shut on Thursday night.

Flitcroft, who is battling to guide the Tykes to *Championship survival, said: “On Wednesday, I was pretty confident that we would keep John.

“But then I got a call on Thursday morning to say that he would probably be leaving.

“To be honest, I am numb. It is like losing a member of your own family.

“I was asked if I could *replace him, and the *answer was ‘No.’ How do you *replace the best young *defender in England?

“There is nobody out there as good as John, and that is why clubs were *prepared to pay £3million for him.”

If he really is as good as he's being made out to be he'll probably start getting game time next season.

Which hopefully he is, wouldn't surprise me if Moyes does see Colemans future more as a reserve right back/right mid where ever needed.

He's obviously not used to doing interviews, which is understandable...seems a bit overwhelmed at the moment. Seems a good kid, though. The reserves are going to have a fairly tall back 4 going.
