John Stones transfer saga

the main one being that he will be sold if the valuation is met
It's been said many times, but it bears repeating many times: every player at every club in the whole world has a price.

Real would sell Ronaldo for the right price, Barcelona would sell Messi.

All you can ask of your club is that they keep their valuations high to discourage bids. Which we do.

The last couple of weeks has merely been the prelude to the main event. Jose Mourinho used the two failed bids, as he damn well knew they would fail, as signalling his intention to make the all-out signing assault this time next year.

Yes, that may/could cost Chelski a whole lot more, but in effect he has put Chelski in pole position and the fact that the hierarchy of both clubs are allegedly talking in an effort to "smooth things over" could be construed as Everton acquiescing to Stonesy going sooner rather than later.

SNIFF IT MOURINHO

Everton will not be bullied

In our current situation,it is absolutely imperative that we keep our best players,we have the nucleus of the side that finished fifth and almost got CL football, yes last season was very dismal in more ways than one,but IF we can make some smart signings to add to what we have, the future could be a lot brighter than it appears at this moment in time, but we have to somehow keep the likes of Stones/McCarthy/Barkley/Lukaku otherwise we will be in grave danger of never building a strong side again IMHO.

I think the Telegraph article yesterday rang true. They forecasted that Mourinho that morning in his press conference would fall silent on Stones and that the issue will be dealt with at boardroom level now.

I still fully expect him to leave.

There's an interesting thing in that Diego Costa book about how Chelsea stopped him going to Liverpool by convincing Costa to wait a year and sign for them instead. He even signed a new contract at A. Madrid to basically up the release clause and stop any other interest in him.

I wonder if Chelsea have made the big statement of intent this year to let Stones know they want him, getting Everton into talks now and saying he'll join next year at 35 million, so everyone looks like a winner and they avoid a bidding war.

Either way Mourinho's comments at face value look like his board have told him to shut up so Bill doesn't start a bidding war this year or next.

IF we manage to hold on to Stones for another year , then this time next year the simple facts are : Stones one year better; Terry one year older. No wonder Jose won't want a bidding war. Whoever fails to win the PL will, be looking to recruit, that Barcelona defence is looking shoogly , bring it on ( a bidding war) in summer 2016.

How will the TV money be £6M less than last year? It's not just based on number of live matches, and we exited both cups at stage one last year so any improvement will be financially beneficial? The Europa league costs money as opposed to makes money unless you make the final....on that basis we have around ten loss-making games less this season.
Saying Stones will be sold at some point in the next 12 months is such a simple,throw-away negative comment....you could say that about every single player in football....didn't Di Maria cost £57M less than 12 months ago and now he's being dumped at a huge loss?
So, who are we selling before the end of September bearing in mind the window closes at the beginning of that month....or am I missing something?

In the accounting year 2013/14 Everton were paid £85,027,727 from the PL TV deal included in there was a £14,005,392 merit payment for finishing 5th
In the accounting year 2014/15 Everton were paid £80,753,166 from the PL TV deal included in there was a £12,488,980 merit payment for finishing 11th

Meaning from the PL deal £4,274,561 less was received

In the 2013/14 season Everton played 4 FA cup games winning 3 ,which generated £337,500 in prize money and TV money of £167,250. The games were watched by 337,500 I can't give you match receipts from what was 3 home game and 1 away but I would guess that you would be safe assuming Evertons nett take would be £750,000 if you include hospitality, programmes etc.Putthat lot together and you are talking of at least £1.25million

In the 2014/15 season there were two games . One at home and one away. There wasn't any prise money and TV money amounted to £66,750. In total 37357 watched the two games and again I have no idea of the gate receipts were but I very much doubt that the club would have received more than £100,000. Put that lot together and you are talking of about £167,000

In relation to the league cup there were two games in 2013/14 and just one in 2014/15. I doubt that there would be much less so I will work on the basis that the nett was the same

So £4,274,000 less from the league and about £1,000,000 less from the FA cup

To be fair there would have been a small profit from the EL but I doubt that it would compensate for the early exit in the FA cup

I have absolutely no doubt that the manager doesn't want to sell anyone but I really don't believe there is any war chest so it will be about raising funds to bring players in
