John Stones transfer saga

I think John Stones is a fantastic defender, but he did play the majority of last campaign when we were awful in defence. So if an offer of £30,000,000 comes in, then I would bite Chelsea's arm off.

We could use that for 3 team fillers, which are desperately needed. Our first 11 is very strong, but our subs are average at best - and we need money to sort that out.

It doesn't help that a number of players are only staying with us, because nobody else will have them. (I think) McGeady, Hibbert, Howard, Pieanar, Kone.. probably with us until the end of their contract or playing days.

I'd sell Stones for 30M but not a penny less and no stupid deals involving add ons. But the 30M wouldn't be getting spent on squad players I'd put 10M towards his replacement and the other 20 on a 20 goal a season striker.

The state of this thread I swear.

Actually, yeah, let's sell Stones and buy Zlatan. Not that it'd actually be a good move, but it'd be downright hilarious and professional sport is all about the entertainment in the end anyway, right?

Mind you, winning would be better than hilarity. But I'll take hilarity if we can't win that's cool.

This is what happens when you take away neg bombs. The bellwhiffs come crawling out the woodwork.

Martinez didn't really say anything about the Stones situation in his post match interview, at least not the one with Sky. this is the closest he got to commenting on it:

Interviewer: With the squad that you've got, is it dependent on whether players leave as opposed to whether you'll bring players in?

Martinez: No not at all, at the moment what we are is trying to have that consistency in our group, we've been working very hard in the last two season to do that, I think we've got a very good balance in experience and young talent that already have big roles in the team, and what we want is to maintain that and if anything add extra strength into our strong core of players that we have.
