Joey or Leighton?

I personally dont see much difference with any of our defensive players, where as you dislike a few and are blinded by this

Have you ever asked yourself why in your words i am blinded by certain players? Why dont i get blinded by the likes of Lescott, Arteta, Cahill, Yobo, Yak, Fellaini? Why do i only get blinded by rejects and run of the mill players like Baines, Jag, Neville and to a certain extent Howard? Perhaps you could explain it to me

Yes mate, possibly, but Leighton isnt in direct competion with Yobo. 1 plays CB and 1 plays LB, ok mate? So Yobo is competing for a place with Lescott, Jagielka.

Because at 1 time in their entire football career they did something that you disliked, so you have a deep seated hatred of them, which leads to blindness regards any footballing talent they may or may not possess.

You admitted that Leighton played well against the bitter reds, but your still calling him run of the mill, hes just played a good game versus the team that was top of the league and you still dont rate him, thats blindness.

Basically...

Baines is better than Lescott at Left Back. So is Lescott better than Yobo at Centre back is the main question...

Why would i have a deep seated hatred against a Wigan player and a Sheff Utd player? Your arguement doesnt hold up there

I thought Baines was poor earlier on in the season, like the rest of the defence to be honest. He deserved to be dropped and Moyes went with tried and trusted. He was trying to find the right balance.

Lescott came in and surprisingly looked worse than Baines, he was all over the place by defensively and attacking wise. He just didn’t look comfortable, I couldn’t actually say why that was. He just looked woeful.

Baines has come in and looked good, he impressed me in his cameo against Chelsea and has kicked on from there. We’ve kept clean sheets, he’s been involved in some of the goals we’ve been scored and his link up play with Pienaar and Arteta has been excellent.

For me we are trying to build a squad, a competitive squad. In Neville, Hibbert, Jacobsen, Yobo, Jagielka, Lescott, Baines and Valente we have competition and some very talented players in there. If one of them gets there chance and does well they should stay in the side. Then whoever there keeping out has to work twice as hard to get there place back.

It’s the way forward in my opinion, you shouldn’t just be in the team because of your individual qualities and who your are. You should be in there on merit, if the player is performing them he should play, simple as really. Don’t change a winning formula, don’t change a formula that one the whole is working well.

I hope that’s how Moyes sees it, bar one or two players who we simply can’t drop (Cahill, Arteta, Pienaar) etc. It’s about building a competitive squad and at the moment Baines is doing well, he should stay in the side.

So he won player of the season and every award last yr because he is sh*te at left back. Mmm interesting(y)

Who said Lescott was [Poor language removed]? Im just saying Baines is better. He loses the ball less, takes on their winger, works better with Pienaar and has better crosses.

Lescott was good at Left Back last season, but look at what he was like this season there.

Seriously, the only reason everyone thinks Lescott's a hotshit leftback is because he scored loads last season.

By not being in the centre, it was ok for him to wander off up field without having to worry about being caught out...

Baines is a real left back.

So Baines could win player of the season from left back? Mmm interesting:lol:

Lescott has looked immaculate and centre half recently, he want to plat there in the long term, Baines is impressing in the long term we have been keeping clean sheets.

Its a no brainer really.

I dont know mate for me he was our best player in the first 6-10 games last season, hes impressed me in the side when injuries and oppurtunites have allowed, i thought he had a superb game agiant Newcastle at home this season too, and his recent games have shown a talent, quality and the ability to offer something different to the team.

I think he could further improve though, that for me will come with oppurtunity.
