AROUND 400 motorcyclists paid tribute to Joey Dunlop on the 10th anniversary of his death in the way they know best - by completing a lap of the TT course.

Enthusiasts from the Island and beyond - including 2002 Lightweight 400 TT winner Milky Quayle and Manx Radio TT broadcaster Chris Kinley - took part in the event which started at 7pm tonight from the TT Grandstand.

The event raised money for the Joey Dunlop Foundation.

One of the greatest ever names in motorcycle racing, Joey, from Ballymoney, Northern Ireland, died following a crash at a road race in Estonia on July 2 2000.

R.I.P Joey. 10 years dead. Still a real hero of mine.

I had a customer I was friendly with around that time who raced bikes professionally. His name was Mark Johns, and owned a service station and a garage in Penrith.

RIP

The amount he did for charity would astound you. He used to drive a truck from here to poor parts of Europe filled with food and toys for kids. All paid for by himself. He was a hero of mine both on the road and off it.
