Just seen on Sky News

One of the IN THE KNOW journolists was in the studio (Dharmesh Sheth)

Joey Barton has pledged to stay with Newcastle to help them up BUT also said that it would be hard to refuse a move to Everton, his boyhood club

I wonder if there is anything in it???

Nope, his head is defo empty.

I told everyone on here months ago that I expect Moyes to make an approach for him this summer.

After we played them - Moyes went completely out of his way to shake Bartons hand. He literally walked past Newcastle staff and other players to single out Barton and shake his hand - even Barton looked a bit perplexed. It got me thinking - a bit of support for a man when he is at his lowest and he'll always be appreciative and no doubt give his all on the pitch.

I'll go against the rub of the grain here and say I would welcome him. He is still only 26 and you can't doubt the lads ability. On the pitch he is everything we need - off it, well, thats were Moyes earns his keep.

The key would be to make sure his contract has a get out of jail card for us - in other words, any foul play and he doesn't get his wage.

Isn't this Cana that everyone's been harping on about just as notorious for being a thug?!... On the pitch at least...

Joey Barton at Peoples Club ???? No f**king way !!! Over my oversized body !! Would you want him as yours son's role model??

Sorry, but I cant see it. He turned us down to join Newcastle because football "matters" up there (his words in a Nuts magazine interview a year or so ago). He's not looking to get back into the prem.

That was when he seemed to be on the mend. Then he lamped out that lad for no reason outside Maccies, then when he got a chance to play again was sent off and had a bust up with the manager who was trying his best to save them from the drop.

Leopard doesnt change its spots. He's poison on the field, in the dressing room, and off the field.

He's also seems to be getting injury prone.

If Moyes thinks he can sort Barton out into anything resembling a decent guy then his ego is bigger than anyone imagined.

You really think having some clause in his contract will stop him being a hotheaded thug? No chance. Look at when Shearer gave him a chance last season, first game he gets himself sent off for a ridiculous challenge.

The guy has had every chance to change and sort himself out and has taken none of them so he ain't gonna take any that we give him.

I'm sure he doesn't deliberatly go out to do what he does, but something inside him snaps and he can't help it. Plus deep down he will probably think even if we give him a chance and he blows it some other club will snap him up and still pay him.

So we don't go for M'Bia cause he has a bit of a big mouth and questionable attitude and don't want him ruining the team spirit in the dressing room. Yet he is nothing compared to Barton.

We might as well actually sign a player who will be playing for us, even if Bartons contract has a "no thuggery no pay" clause in it he will go about 3 games max if we're lucky and be left a midfielder short.

I'll repeat what I said aloud when I saw this thread:

Noooo no no no no no no no no no no
