I never said the defending was good. Nice to have a goalkeeper keeping goal these days though.

I like Joel more than Tim Howard and that’s as good as it’s going to get from me.
My previous comment was more aimed at the Pickford haters, but well played.
Robles was badly average.
Good lad, worked hard, wasn't good enough to be our first choice, worst distribution of any Everton keeper I can remember, decent shot stopper, good luck to him
His first few games I thought he was dreadful, and I never thought I’d forgive him for an absolutely shambolic performance at arsenal in the cup, but fair play to the lad he was decent for the last couple of years. We need a new keeper in my opinion, because he’s unarguably better than stekekenburg so losing him is a downgrade.
He was an able deputy no more no less .
In fact he had some good games for us , so much so I wanted him to keep his place so badly when Tim Howard was out.
Then again anyone with 2 legs 2 arms and a pair of gloves would have been ok for me.
He was a good backup goalkeeper and actually should’ve been our first choice for at least 2 or 3 full seasons considering some of the messes we had occupying the gloves instead. Never once complained and always played with a smile on his face, he appreciated playing for a club like Everton. Best of luck in the future Joel.
