I like to think that despite his shaky start, he has proven that getting a new goalkeeper isn't absolutely vital. Of course there are better keepers out there, but i think he'll do a job if we chose to buy in the summer rather than now

I think his biggest asset is his size. Like all the best keepers, he looks imposing in goal whereas Howard doesnt. I think this is massively important, especially in one on one situations as it makes strikers try to push the ball further into the corner, forcing mistakes. We have already seen the benefits of this against city (Nasri + Navas both missed easy chances I think), and against West ham.

You see the problem I have with that is that he didn't actually make any errors in those games except Krasnador of course. He was just a continental keeper that punches rather than catches which kept putting our defence under pressure and driving us mad. In the last few games he hasn't been doing that. It's obvious it's something he has been working on since last season.

I heard Robles had a trial at Real madrid when he was younger but Casisas was so worried about him immediatly replacing him he drove him to the wrong stadium and he ended up playing for Athletico instead.

As I suspected his form has increased from having a run in the side. You can see quite clearly he is a confidence player.

He does have a lot of natural attributes, his size and the fact he can come and take crosses are good. He is quite good in one on one situations.

I hope we keep Robles over Howard though.
