Context lads.

Moyes was a perfect fit for the time. Now we're improved from 01/02, Martinez is what's needed, and it's refreshing.

Martinez then and Moyes now may have been completely different. We needed to be tough to beat a decade ago - now we are established as a 'hard to break down' team, Martinez' outlook is the one we need, and it's showing.

Yeah Martinez would never get any team relegated ever.

Fergie would have taken wigan down Ffs. Not sure what your point is. Moyes dour pragmatism was not appropriate for a club of Evertons stature. The shackles are at long last finally off the players - although come January I'm sure kenwrong and the gangsters he has put in charge of the club will try and sabotage our progress.

laughable attempt to defend moyes and/or kenwrong by suggesting we would have gone down had RM been manager in the same situation that moyes arrived to. moyes and kenwrong held this club back from day one.
"Please don't turn this into an anti-board thread, I'm serious."
Groucho my good man, they just can't resist the temptation is just too much for them.

Once a blue always a blue, strange how ex evertonians can actually talk from a balanced perspective whilst ex rs ones talk with a complete lack of any objectivity

...Joe is a gentleman of the old school, in the same mould as Labone and truly one of us. He's seen it and done it. I like the McCarthy comparison with Bracewell, I made this myself a month or so ago. For you youngsters, Bracewell was top drawer and just as Joe says very underrated. I do see a lot of similarities with the attitude of this team and that one of the mid-80s.

Heard him on Talk****e a few months back that he was applying for jobs, and he was never even shortlisted for any of them.

Wonder if their will ever be a place in the set up for him back at us tbh, although tagged with the dogs of war thing, royle liked to play attacking footy with pace at his heart. think he'd be a great number 2 to roberto tbh

a great blue who like kendall and harvey understood the club to its very roots, something moyes never had a clue about, and in fact deliberately refused to acknowledge.

Haha you're right, its a shame we didn't have people under which we could progress, this decade of continuing with our relegation battles have really ground me down.

Well said Joe, Kenwright did okay, Moyes built a good foundation and Martinez has exceded expectation by not only improving that with our improved style of play (which I think we all expected), but did it rapidly and successfully and sees us top 4 today but only a couple of points from the top in his first season (which I suspect most of us didn't really expect).
