If this is what the transition from Kenwright control to Moshiri control looks like then that's not a good omen for the future.

We've seen change at Everton in the last 20 months but it hasn't been a change for the better.

People moan that Ferguson is a job for the boys but royle isnt? If anything royle job conflicted a little bit with walsh and at the time it seemed like it was just a role to have him around the club being a legend.

I doubt we will see little if any impact on him leaving, and it's not like he isn't going to be still at the game .

Maybe there was a lot of traveling involved?my understanding was Joe's role was monitoring our youngsters progess at the clubs they are loaned out to?

Good luck Joe and thanks.
I don't think anything suspicious has happened here despite the conspiracy theories that will materialise.
I don't think Everton are a joke, I don't think this is embarrassing, I don't think we are small time.

He has just left...that's all. Lets not make an issue out of nothing please. Let's just wish him all the best
He's nearly 70. Been in football most of his life. He's retiring. Good luck to the man, he's earned it.

Not the first time he’s resigned. When the going get tough Royle walks out on us.
Absolute total nonsense.

His reign as manager ended prematurely because of Peter Johnson.

And now, he is not leaving under a cloud. This is a straightforward case of somebody leaving - it happens from time to time for various, very day-to-day reason.

Perhaps he’s getting on and wants to semi retire? And there’s absolutely no suggestion that it’s anything other than an amicable decision from all parties.

Anyway....

I totally agree with a few of the theories put forward for Big Joe's resignation, as tweety has pointed out he's probably taken the opportunity to re-asses his role, he's probably had a chat with a few people including big Sam and decided you know what it's time to retire and relax.

Big Joe along with Bally were my heroes when I was growing up and I've always followed his career. Joe is a canny big man he's probably the most articulate and intelligent boss we've ever had and he's always been one of us.

He won't have thrown his dummy out the pram and I don't think he would have been asked to leave so conspiracies can be binned as far as I'm concerned.

I'm sure he or the club will put out an official statement shortly.

Thanks for everything Joe, you and Bally will always be my heroes.
