we're playing hardball with City that's all. Trying to get the fee down or get City to contribute to his wages. Nothing wrong with that. We want to get the best deal we can. I think Hart will still happen, just the early rounds of public negotiation this. City can't have a situation where he is still there by Sept.1st, given Beguristain's comments and reported concerns about splits/team morale. I imagine this is genuine, Hart will have his supporters within the camp who feel he has been treated unfairly given his length of service. An agreement will be reached that suits everybody.

I see Chelsea are linked with Dinamo Zagreb's keeper, so that would not rule Begovic out either. I think Everton will encourage those links in the coming days, to put pressure on City.

I think we hold the aces here if he wants to retain his England place and remain living locally.

I'm not particularly hot/cold on Hart, particularly as a "marquee" signing (under these circumstances, I don't think he is) but if RK wants him here, it's fine by me.
