Not worth 7m for one season, saying that if you buy for example a 20m player and give him a 4 year contract per season it will work out as quite a lot anyway once you add his wages on, i just dont want Hart for a year.

If you had said to people on the last day of last season, that Joe Hart was available on loan and willing to join us, I think just about everyone would have thought it's an absolute no brainer.

Now everyone is arguing the toss about having to pay his wages and thinking Steklenberg is a better option. Amazing.

Agree. Think we could afford the wages but we know City are desperate to get rid and we are the only viable option (level and location). The longer this goes on the more City are likely to pay part of his wages.

Only a handful of teams in the world would consider paying 135k per week for a keeper. I would say all of them have better keepers than Joe Hart except for us (and the RS but they just purchased a new keeper) which gives us a strong negotiating position. Think we will try to drive the price down a bit which is risky and may bring other teams in but I guess we feel a bit more comfortable with taking this risk considering Stek seems like he is up to the task.

i never take any notice of an article with no quotes.

apart for the part where i scroll down to see if there's any quotes.

City seem to have set their price with this £7m stuff, we'll say no

... city will start putting reports out in the media that other clubs are interested, then we'll put out reports in the media we're after other targets (we'd be looking at them anyway, but presume hart is 1st choice), city will say they won't budge at that price, hart himself will start getting wary as the deadline approaches that he needs to go somewhere, city realise this as well and lower their demands, surprise surprise we'll be back in like a shot and offer a little bit below their value again and then they'll reluctantly accept right as deadline nears.

Or they will sel him to a champions league team borussia Dortmund!

Aye, think it will go much the same way as the Barry deal - brinksmanship right up to the last day with City ending up paying part of his wages which they get back if we do a permanent deal a year later.
He is way overpriced and won't get any takers at that price ... Deadline day he will go somewhere on a cut price deal as he has no future at Citeh ! Hopefully not us !
