City fan here in peace :)

Its looking likely hart is leaving us, maybe to join everton. most city fans myself included will be gutted if he goes. he's a class keeper and has been one of our main players for years now. you'd be getting a great keeper if you get him. as mentioned above gareth barry was the same very good player for us.

williams is a good addition and if you keep your best players you will do a lot better this year under koeman. Good luck for the rest of the season always preferred everton to the plastics at anfield.

Many dismissed Gareth Barry as old and finished when we were linked with him. I went over to Bluemoon and they couldn't believe we were turning our noses up at him. The same is happening with Hart, the City fans rate him, and have continued to rate him during a period in which Evertonians have been arguing that Joel Robles is 'decent' and capable of 'doing a job'.

If we get him I'll try and drop my predjuice and get behind him. I'd glady be wrong if he comes here and turns out to be really good and I'd happily get vaulted for dissing him.

Your point about City fans rating him sounds promising but even reading forums it's hard to gauge 'most' supporters feelings. Go in the Lukaku thread and half the people in there are slating him despite the fact he scores so many goals for us.

Taking Geuye from Villa a lot of their fans were saying he's not that good and no great loss to them. (Bitter maybe or just wrong)

That's why I tend to trust my own opinion more. I'm not always right and sometimes all of us jump the gun, judging players before we've seen them enough but I've never been that impressed by Hart. He might not be awful but imo I don't think he's going to be the massive upgrade from Stek some people seem to think he will be, especially for the money and wages. I think we'd see far greater gains in our results from getting a key outfield player.

I'd prefer to just play Stek unless we can sign a seriously good keeper. I don't think Hart is a seriously good keeper.

I'm open to being wrong though.

Can't see it happening.
But in all honesty no worse than what we have and with a big ego and a massive point to prove he'll be on a mission wherever he does end up.

My money is on West Ham for no particular reason.

have you read that last little paragraph. Pathetic that they are saying a goalkeeper might be sold because he isn't good with his feet in a possession based system. A goalkeeper ffs getting sold because he can't pass a ball ( and I don't remember him actually being particular bad tbh).

I hope Pep fails massively the irritating tiki taka tosser.

It's code for saying "he's absolute ****". It's nothing to do with him not rating his passing.

no mate I don't think it is, I actually think that's his mindset that keepers should be some kind of Beckenbauer on the ball.

if he don't want him I'd take Hart here all day long. Would be a massive upgrade on what we've had to endure since Martyn retired.

I'm very surprised he's being booted out so quickly by Guardiola mate, he's a City legend and achieved a lot. Normally new managers slowly phase out players whom they don't want but know are very popular with the supporters but Pep looks as if he's doesn't give a toss wants him gone ASAP. Aren't City fans upset at how he's being treated? Could understand if he'd been dropped straight away for a newly signed keeper but dropping him for Caballero who's been his understudy for years? That's deliberately humiliating him IMO.

How ironic. Tapped up Stones all Summer, now on his bike himself it appears. Swerve this cockwomble please..

Pep Guardiola has told Joe Hart he can leave Manchester City
Spanish side Sevilla are leading the chase to sign the England goalkeeper on loan with Everton having also expressed an interest in Hart earlier in the summer.

Guardiola is set to sign Barcelona's Claudio Bravo as a replacement before the transfer window closes - he has a £36m release clause in his contract - after being told by his former club that his No 1 target Marc-Andre ter Steggen is not for sale.

Hart was axed for the Premier League opener with Sunderland - which was watched by new England manager Sam Allardyce - when Guardiola surprisingly preferred Willy Caballero, despite the Argentine being regarded as the inferior goalkeeper by many in the game.

And Guardiola's conciliatory post-match comments on the player's future are in stark contrast to what he has told him privately.

City's longest-serving player has been left in no doubt that that the new City manager does not rate him highly enough.

He is now resigned to leaving the Etihad, but with just two weeks before the transfer window closes it is likely that Hart will only countenance a loan move with the majority of clubs already having settled on their goalkeeping options.

Sevilla would provide him with Champions League football, while Everton enquired in May about the possibility of a permanent deal for the 29-year-old.

Hart has played 347 times for City - plus 63 times for England - since his £1m move from Shrewsbury in May 2006. But his relationship with Guardiola has been described by insiders as "frosty."

He did not help his cause by making high-profile errors against Wales and Iceland for England in the Euros but it is understood that Guardiola had already made up his mind he would no longer be City's No 1.

"Pep just doesn't fancy him," said a source.

Guardiola said of his decision to pick Cabellero: "I think he had good pre-season, he gave me a lot of confidence, he has personality and that is why I chose him.

"I have a lot of respect for Joe. I know how good a goalkeeper he is but I decided for Willy. In the end I have a squad and I decide [on] what I see. It is not a personal issue."

Hart was in the City squad that yesterday travelled to Romania for City's Champions League play-off round first leg against Steaua Bucharest tomorrow.

But Cabellero is expected to retain his place while his compatriot Nicolas Otamendi is expected to be fit after missing the Sunderland game with a tendon injury
