That stat is an accurate portrayal of the actual events in the games that Joe Hart has kept a clean sheet in that the opposition didn't score a goal in any of the 75 matches - statistically, visually, any way you want to look at it.

I understand your point of view mate but 2nd place hasn't exactly been playing infront of relegation fodder for that time. I suppose You could say comparable to other top keepers infront of good defences he gets more clean sheets. Either way, we all know he's a step up from what we have. Sign him!

Yes mate, but that doesn't mean he's a great goalkeeper does it?

You can certainly infer that from it, but it's not proof is it?

It doesn't take into account other factors, such as him playing for a big team with top players and that some teams go to the Etihad and will sit back rather than attack

Basically, stats are merely a guideline, not an absolute

See, this I'm fine with as it's not just saying "Look this stat shows he's good. Argument over!"

And yeah, he may indeed be a step up from what we have and I'm warming to the idea of him coming

Again, I will say that I'd be uncomfortable with him coming straight in and taking the starting jersey, as I'd feel Stekky would have to have a bad run first (Which he inevitably will do if he's just a back up option, which he very well may be)

But yeah, I'm feeling better about this possible signing than I was yesterday at any rate

Think over a 7 year period stats speak for themselves & they really are impressive.

Valid point about Kompany but most of that time Cech had John Terry in front of him.

All in all its a great signing if it comes off. At 29 he's got many good years to come.

Could be worse though Joe my friend, nivea have Henderson 'modelling' their products.

No, you're just arguing for the sake of arguing. You could have sourced stats for clean sheets kept whilst Kompany played/didn't play in front of Hart, instead you just try to complicate things with long words and insinuations.
