RK has stated we need 3 keepers. For me, it's always been between Hart and Begovic and remains so despite The Mail article. Unless, of course, Walsh notices Rui Patricio can be purchased...

He could have meant three keepers playing at once (after reviewing the pre-season team)! :pWe would have to bend the rules a bit though, but our goal diff would be outstanding!

He should not be our highest paid player, not a chance.

I have to agree. It's not just down to whether we can afford it. Paying that kind of money to your keeper is just the wrong thing to do, and it's asking for trouble along the way if other players become discontented.

He just seems like an expensive luxury to me. Although I wouldn't complain if we splashed out, as its not my money, and he is a proven keeper. However, I would hate for us to miss out on some class attacker because we have blown so much of our (undisclosed) real budget on this one addition. Of course, his price might drop considerably as the window draws to a close, so maybe some last minute negotiations? If it is a loan situation, the negotiations can go beyond the window anyway. Right? So, I would say get other positions strengthened first, like a back-up for Rom for example (we are just one injury away from having no powerful striker - Geri is not that type of player).
