Oh he’s not as awful at debates as some of them, but Harris is very very good at that stuff.
I haven’t seen enough of her myself to make an assessment tbh but a good background article on her strengths/potential weaknesses here
For the election I think the major risk would be the lack of previous large scale media exposure - for better or for worse Harris/Warren for instance are somewhat defined entities to voters at this point and have learned to handle difficult questions. Bass is unlikely to be a Sarah Palin train-wreck but that is one hell of a media cauldron to be dumped in with little time to learn to swim.
For actually doing the role of VP, rather than the election itself, she is meant to be well regarded by those in the know although obviously a pretty big step up from being a congresswoman.

she's a black congress woman from LA so fits right in the wheelhouse of what Biden will be looking for.
She seems tough and straight talking. She considers herself a progressive but she's definitely not AOC progressive, more what Pelosi would deem suitably progressive.
Herself and Duckworth are two good outside bets.
