Compared to Trump (and tbh every major party nominee in US history) he IS as left wing as Jesus Christ.
Heard a guy on a podcast the other day, who was an organiser for Bernie. He said the following:
“If you supported Bernie, and his ideas and ideals, your job now is as follows: From now until November 3rd it is to be Joe Biden’s biggest supporter, to get behind him, to raise and donate money to his campaign, to knock doors, to phone bank, to register voters for him, to convince friends and relatives to cast their vote for him, to do everything in your power to make him President of the United States.
From November 4th, it is to be his biggest headache. It is to campaign for the ideas and ideals you hold dear, to push his administration in the direction you want it to go in, and to hold them to account when they fall short.”
My point, Mr @Death, is simply that you have the order of operations backwards.

I dunno, I just don't feel it's that comfortable for Biden.
I may be wrong but gut instinct tells me it's a lot closer than that.
That is spot on.
There's a lot of these Joe Rogan fanboy types who consider themselves edgy and independent, saying things like I have voted for both parties over the years; I'm mostly a centrist with libertarian-leanings; I listen to both sides, blah blah blah.
But then you ask them a simple question: Trump or Biden? ...and they start waffling and saying "both are flawed"..."I'm not sure yet"..."we'll just wait and see"
I got news for you, you so-called centrist: If you are equivocating between one of the most center-leaning Democrats and far-right Trump, you are not an independent centrist--you are far right.

I doubt the figures will stay like that. Biden at the moment is ”generic democrat” and as the election comes closer his own flaws and just regular partisanship will bring some of the waverers back into the fold along with a switch from “registered voters” to “likely voters” reducing the number of younger voters.
But we have a pandemic that is now hitting many of those states hard with Trump trying to remove healthcare protections like pre-existing conditions that are broadly popular plus historically high unemployment and the largest protests in years - it would be odd if it wasn’t having hitting his re-election chances.
