Was away with spotty cell coverage for the last few days.
Just wanted to commend Biden on what must have been a very tough decision.
I've disagreed with some of his foreign policy decisions and I never thought it was a good idea to run again.
But over all I am very grateful to him for his time as POTUS.
After the crapstorm that was 2016-20, America needed a statesman, needed normal service to resume, needed someone in the Oval Office that was almost boring (and I dont mean that in a pejorative sense). And that was Joe Biden. Maga aside, he clearly had respect from both sides of the aisle which proved crucial to steering the country out of the pandemic.
My 5 year old boy knows who the president is. He'd come home from school and tell me the president is 'Joseph R Biden'. And I'd tell him that like him, the President is Irish American, and like him, his family came from Louth and Mayo. As he (my son) grows older, he'll learn that the first president he remembers used to quote Yeats and Heaney. That as president he gave a speech from the banks of the Moy that was directed at us, the diaspora.
I hope, in a few months, that Biden gets time to retire and enjoy family life. I hope, now out of the political blender, Hunter gets a suspended sentence and can continue putting his life together. The Bidens have been through an unimaginable amount.

Not long now. You can tell his head's beginning to go. The fact that he's getting little to no reaction from his desperate posts is affecting his judgement, we've already had comments like 'heels up Harris' (which four years ago was enough to get the QAnon Finn Fan a temp ban) so not long now until he posts something openly racist/sexist and gets banned.
He’s already made pretty openly misogynistic and homophobic posts. Calling Harris and Buttigeig “bruised knees” says about all you need to know about him. There have been many more
