Positive he come out the game with a cleansheet but realistically Joao isn't ready to be a Premier League back up. He needs to go out and get a run of games at a club and get some experience. If he can get a Championship loan next season would be good and can watch him progress. Last time out at Reading he had a tough deal. Wish we would stop sending our players there as Gibson is suffering near the same fate.

Not sure what the gnabry barkley reference is? 2 very odd players to use....

Both went on loan and didn’t get a game but now have established top flight (/world class in Gnabry’s case) careers.

Just saying there are outliers, but generally not getting a game on loan in the championship is not ideal.

Yeah I understand it now..... Just find the reference odd haha. Think it's more the gnabry bit

Will he have to start v City?? I mean its going to be a bloodbath regardless, but they will be as 'shoot on site' as ever if that's the case!

Same here. Must Google his height. I dont think small keepers cut it overall. Southall was different, special, but a keeper has to be special if not well over 6 feet tall.

It's not really true that.

Jan Oblak - 6'2"
Marc Andre ter Stegen - 6'2"
Keylor Navas - 6'1"
Ederson - 6'2"
Yann Sommer - 6'0"

All top goalies (Virginia is seemingly taller than all of them).

Olsen is 6'5" or so.

Even going back through time there are a lot more good average sized goalies than people realize. Dino Zoff was only 6 foot, Gordon Banks 6'1", Rinat Dasayev 6'2" etc.
