Just a mistake by the city website that sky sports have picked up on probably and used as "confirmation" of the deal, but I still think we'll sign him.

Assistant manager Steve Round speaks of his hopes of securing a new deal for Manchester City striker Jo.

Everton officials have today confirmed discussions with the Eastlands club are on-going and Round would be delighted to again link up with the Brazilian following his successful Goodison loan spell last term.

Round also discussed:

•The pre-season trip to Scotland
•The fitness of the squad
•The objectives of the trip
•New teenage signing Shkodran Mustafi
•His faith in 'The Everton Way'

The bit in bold made me sick a little in my mouth.

The signing club are usually the first to officially announce a deal, Shitty have jumped the gun.

That means they have upset us so we won't sell them Lescott now! :P

I liked Jo. Could be a very big talent on our hands there.

I heard somewhere we were negotiating a buy out clause of about 8-9 million. For that price I think he'd be worth it.

Ive got sigs off. Does his say saying like "Jo is crap"?

As ive said, I was never a "fan". But I can see theres something there. Some of his goals and his play at times was excellent.

Also any loan MUST have a buy out we can afford, would hate to start rating the lid only for him to go back to City.

By the way, I'm thrilled he wants to play for us and I think he fit in well in the dressing room last year. Getting a full year in here for us might be the best thing for us and him this season.

Brilliant David Moyes.
