Everton join United in Naughton chase as Moyes looks to extend Jo stay | Mail Online

a loan will be nice, but i don't see us ever paying his transfer fee, which has probably only gone up since he was good for us. imo we should have negotiated hard for a low buyout price since he was such utter [Poor language removed] for city with his last contract, especially if he begins to fit with the squad really well its going to be hard to see him eventually go.

If we get Jo, we're saying goodbye to Lescott.

I've seen gimpses of potential in Jo, but when he doesnt score he is awful. Another loan would be the best option.

I'd rather have Jo than Owen, he'd be a great loan signing.

I can't see it though, I doubt City will loan him out again. They'll try and sell him and we can't afford him.

Hmm it may have been a quote on here or Bluekipper, where Hughes said he was going to try and loan out as many players as possible.

Just on the other part of this article about us after Naughton I would love either of the Kyles (walker and naughton) at the Toffees. Both are guns.

Any time ive tuned in to see Naughton, Walker impressed me. that said you can see the raw potential in Naughton would be a great signing.

If Jacobson signs, ill despair for two reasons:

1) We wont be signing Naughton

2) Its likely Neville will stay in midfeild.

If Naughton signs Neville will be in midfield though wouldn't he?

Neville won't be dropped, not with David Moyes as our manager.

Would love either of them here. Both are immense talents. I, personally, would take Naughton first. Strengthening the right side is a must for us and Naughton would be the perfect start to that!

But, back to Jo, I think that a loan with the option to buy would be best.

And the quote about Hughes looking into loaning players out was on kipper.

He said something along the lines of:

"If the option to loan some players out is there, then thats something we will have to look into"

Well theres as good a chance as any, personaly i think Moyes is doing the Ferguson thing at Everton and developing a good young team to bubble under surfice of the more establisehd first team, hes looking at some of players hitting there late 20's and trying to develop players to take over.

I think he could bring Naughton in and use him sparingly similiarly as he did Baines, personaly i dont think the lad is ready to start week in week out in the Prem. He could learn his trade under Nev or Hibbo for a season or two untill he is ready. Dont think this would happen if Jacobson signs.

Either way, Neville will play for atleast another four years.

Naughton might struggle.

Being serious though, I agree with you But with our limited money I'd rather we improved the midfield. Naughton might be too expensive.

Jacobsen is free and will probably accept being a squad player if he's given a reasonable amount of games.

Could be a snip at 4 mill to be honest, i know what your saying and agree midfeild should be the focuss. For me if you look at it systematicly having another RB on the books frees Nev up to be available in Midfeild for injuries or a game that would suit his midfeild style. He should be our starting right back from the of though.

Ive been thinking a lot about depth and options recently. The Europa is going to be grueling next season and i dont want us to fade like we did in in the Spring of 08 in the Prem. I think the aquistion of Naughton, would give us depth with a style of player who would represent a progress for us going into the future, it would free Nev to midfield if needed and we would have Hibbo then Naughton to cover.

I would if it was me like!

Yeah, the amount of games next season is, potentially, heavy. I think that for this reason alone, we should be looking at keeping the likes of big Vic and Ossie (NB I say this because ive heard other blues calling for their heads!). Europe seems to suit them 2 better because the pace is a bit slower. I would love Naughton though, and as you say it just opens up some more options to toy round with!
