The rain, it raineth every day
Just watching the Big Match which featured Luton v Newcastle (a pig of a pitch, 60% sand, 20% mud, 20% grass.) Didn't know Jimmy Husband had played for Luton ; he had a very good game, four chances with two powerful shots.

Looked up his stats which were very good : 165 appearances, 44 goals, even better for Luton, 143 appearances, 44 goals. I was too young to see him - thoughts about his time with us ?

My old man still goes on about that, league cup tie at Goodison 1968 I think?
It was a night game in one of the cups against Derby, one of the worst tackles I ever saw. Jimmy was never the player he should have become after that, he still had all the tools in the locker, but, lacked that little bit of bravery that would have turned the very good player he was into the truly great player we all believed he would become.

Skippy Husband was very quick, but that karate scissor kick by Mackay was disgusting..,...
Never the same promise in him after that challenge probably suffered with PSTD......

He played against us for Luton when we blew the league there in 1975!! The “lost to Carlisle twice and Luton” season.
Cracking player. Was hitting brilliant form until Panathanaikos got hold of him at Goodison. (@Dario Terracotta debut match!)

Just as I thought @Dario Terracotta ruddy fault jinxed Jimmy lol
Often think I am a jinx, first game that bloody one, first derby at Goodison,Lyons goal mysteriously ruled out,Waddle(who?!!)wins it off his knee for them, first semi final, the Hamilton one, first Cup final the Villa League Cup trilogy,I could go on but my palms are already sweating and I am starting to hyperventilate;) lol
