Anyway, i forsaw this weeks ago i believe and posted it on here somewhere. Moyes will sign him, turn him into "a defensive centre forward" who is afraid to score ,,, what have you got ?? jermain Defobia..... as told 6 weeks ago.

defoe? not a prayer! cost of player too high. cost of wages too high.
heres a list of decent strikers who may not cost us that much and have experience in top flight football -
jelle vossen - genk
marvin ogunjimi - genk
eli barda - genk
papa demba cisse - freiburg
everton - heracles
mounir el hamdaoui - ajax
bas dost - heerenveen
not everyones cup of tea maybe but at least there is choice!
now go look at them moyesey and get signing

Another final piece of the Kopites jigsaw.

So.. They buy wingers to hit a target man, who can't score.

So now. They want a box player...

Is Kenny going through every formation and tactic in the book

wasn't Paul Ince supposed to be the final piece??

Some decent suggestions there. I feel Cisse would be the best as I have been impressed with him when I have watched him, however I have heard that Freiburg want around £10m for him so he out of our price range. I think Vossen would be a more realistic signing as we could maybe get him for a couple of million.

Jell vossen could be a good option... Your looking mor 4-5M tbh though.

Cisse wants to come to the prem, his club are already looking for a replacement in anticipation of him moving. Coul be to much dolla though.

Luk de Jong and luc castaignos could be added to that list. The former could again be expensive though.

Also a couple at PSG that could be the right money.

There's definitely some options out there depending on if moyes thinks there good enough and more importantly if we have the required funds.

i dont understand how other clubs can sign unknown players on the cheap and then play them week in week out in the prem and they prove to be quality signings,,, is our scouting that bad ????
How much did sunderland ( i think ) pay for sessignon, he's not a world beater by any means but he is quick, strong, direct, skillfull and delivers every week,,,, maybe he cost a lot, i dont honestly know, but this is the type of player teams are picking up and they are performing week in week out,,,,,,,, we never seem to sign players like this.

Arteta, Lescott, Cahill, Pienaar, Jagielka average of about £3m.

Also, Sessegnon was £6m from PSG. I know you said you don't know how much he cost, but that's like saying us signing Heitinga was an unknown find.

i used sessignon as i honestly hadnt heard about him before and had no idea what he cost, my point i was badly trying to make is that players piennar, arteta, jags were allready on the football radar, other clubs seem to be unearthing talent from all over the world from academys and second division teams and they then go on to be not superstars but very good consistent premier league players,,,, i just think we as a club dont tend to do this.

Jags was in the second division when we signed him. As was Lescott. No one had heard of Pienaar nor Arteta.

Examples?

I know what you mean though. I often think of the likes of Tiote, Cabaye, Demba Ba, Sessegnon etc. as cheap, under the radar buys but in actu fact they're not.

i remember watching lescott play as a 16 year old for the wolves academy against my local team in a pre season friendly, a friend of mine chris evans was the accademy director there at the time, he told us then that if he had to pick ust 1 of that team to make it who would it be, he said then that Lescott would make it to the very top and would play for England one day...
