Jermaine Defoe - Injured

Of the big games coming up, I feel this is the one Everton are most likely to win. Tottenham are playing Thursday aren't they?

Yep.

Let's hope for a few bumps and knocks in that game tonight, Bale hamstring and Vertongen back strain would be lovely.

Let's hope to God not. Neville doesn't have the pace or timing to shackle Bale these days and if he tries to tackle him anywhere near the box then it'll be a penalty for Spurs. I think we just have to hope that Coleman can keep pace with him and keep him out wide as his crosses can be dealt with by our centre backs. Once Bale cuts in and shoots then we have a problem.

If he can do what his done the last times his had to mark Bale he would be one of the first people on the team sheet, I hate him as a player as much as everyone else, but his done great against Bale in the past

Comparing the Bale of last season to this one is like comparing C.Ronaldo in his first couple of seasons at United to the one where he scored 40 goals. Much improved player.

AVB has spoken about using Bale as a striker. It would probably suit us as Jags and Distin could both give him a buffeting, he could end up playing a lot of the game with his back to goal and he wouldn't get the opportunity to run at us from deeper positions.

I could see us doing them. It's a big help that we'll have had 4 more days rest than them.

Cant really blame him if they do use Bale as a forward, considering he score's more and play's better than some,i am 50/50 on this, spurs playing tonight should give us the Advantage rest wise etc-would have been better if they were away, but Everton been everton, spurs could play sat night and still beat us sunday,as said by some if you stop Bale you probably 9 times from 10 stop spurs, and we have done well pretty much everytime v bale/spurs.

But but... we always let players have loads of space on the edge of the box. If he's playing as striker we really need to concentrate on Gibson sitting in front of the back four and following Bale wherever he goes. Distin can play the sweeper role for those times Bale looks like he might be through, Disty in full flight is almost as quick as Bale with the ball imo.

Got to rough him up in the first 10 minutes, couple of meaty tackles. Let's hope he gets a few others tonight too.

Decent news this.

From what i've seen of Adebayor recently he just wanders around the pitch looking uninterested, unfit and lacking confidence so i'm glad it'll probably be him upfront. If i was Moyes i'd tell one of our lot to smash him dead hard at the beggining of the game and keep giving him no room to move until he has a meltdown and gets sent off.
