Jelavic move vindicated?

He left to get in the World Cup squad so good for him.

If he'd stayed and not played I doubt he'd be going.

That and he's not very good. So I dread how bad other Croatian strikers are.

The thing is you have to understand about players from the Balkans particularly the ex Yugoslavia they tend not to be consistent because they usually have very strong tempers. Another thing that many people who don't come from the region don't understand is that players like Jelavic and Dzeko only started playing football when they were in their mid teens because of the war. That's why players from that region tend to start their careers slowly, and then excel later on. I think Jelavic became sick of Moyes tactics and just sulked for the majority of last season, exactly the same happened with Dzeko. When Jelavic is in the mood there a few better than him, when's he not he's awful.

Getting a sense of 'jelavic is a great striker low on confidence' Deja Vu here.

He was a striker who had a good run of games and then turned out he was terrible in the league and stopped scoring. He even stopped kicking the ball correctly well before then end. Never a premier league striker, and giving him another 18 months he still wouldnt have scored more then a couple in the league for us. As sad as that is.

Lovely for him to be called up though. New club, going to the world cup, made up for him.

As much as i am critical, he was a blue for 2 years and therefore sits alongside madar (how can he miss that?!), Bakayoko and Jo max moore (thought he was quality when i was a kid)

I swear to god..... If people don't stop talking [Poor language removed] about JMM.....

What mood's that?...the mood to be awful?

Very odd one. Went from looking like the best striker we'd had for an age to someone who looked likely to fall over his own feet when running onto the pitch, in a very short space of time. I loved the way the fans stuck with him though.

Loved him. That winner against Spurs will always be one of my best memories. Was awful towards the end though, can't complain with the money received.

Still can't believe we got £7million.

Was awful in the end for us and he's barely done any better at Hull, even with the strike partner which is supposed to suit him.
