Jekyll and Hyde game...

I know. I think its bang out of order that people can complain about that performance against a good Spurs side.

I think I have said enough last night.

Some people are never happy...

I for one am ecstatic for numerous reasons, We're top of the league, We stuffed Spurs 3-1!!!.

And the re-emergence of Leon Osman who I thought was a player that had seen his best days in a blue shirt. Not only did he get the MoTM award but he did so playing in a 4 man midfield which I personally believed he wouldn't really have an real positive effect for us due to his size and him being really Lightweight.

Proved me wrong and I'm glad I hope the lad carries on his impressive form and gets himself an England call up its no less then he deserves for all the [Poor language removed] he's put up with.

Yeah Zero, I have to say that I take back my words about Osman not having enough quality to play in our midfield. He has really impressed me.

Lads, just don't take this to heart because one fan has gone against the flow, Suits must have felt it and I would have been posting similar, if the way we buckled in the middle of the first half had continued, we all would. It was a great performance at WHL but if you are an idealist (Suits this is you) only the very best will do. Even GD has had a pop at Big Vic, he is entitled to and I respect his opion, don't agree with his comments on last mights game though:lol:

If 50,000 blues get pissed off their combined skulls in victory don't pick on the guy who disagrees, that is his entitlement, out of order or not because he hasn't exactly laid into the team has he, just exploiting ways to improve, and that is something we must do all the time. Celebrate a smashing win and get ready for Saturday because I can imagine a certain someone starting a 'told you all' thread and when he's smug he is smug, be warned:lol:

Well relatively speaking Monty we played well enough to snuff out the Spurs attack and limited them to only a handful of real opportunities. Our midfield was more defensive then attacking and that is why we sat back and soaked up the pressure.

I think Moyes told Arteta and Lescott to raid forward less and that is why we didn't I suppose match yours and Suits expectations of the second half, but it was job well done. You can't argue with that fact.

If we were losing 3-1 then second half may have seen us attack more and Spurs sit back more. That is the nature of football and I would certainly expect you to see that, a man of your experience in football should see the two sides to a game.

Maybe I was harsh on Anichebe a tad, but I just think he has lots to learn and needs to improve on many parts of his game. He's not going to be a Rooney he's going to be one of those players who ruffles defenders, I just thought last night he gave the ball away too often, and this is not just my opinion, this was the opinion of the pub I was in.

I would take this kind of performance and this kind of result at every away game this season, because its the almost perfect way to approach these kind of games. If it was Chelsea or Man U we wouldn't be complaining.

I also feel with Pienaar and Fernandes and Cahill to come in, we should be more of a passing side, but then I felt we passed the ball well when we were attacking. Although there was a spell when we were giving the ball away cheaply, but then credit to Spurs there for closing us down.

Martin Jol said last night that we are a hard team to beat, and that is true. If you look at this:

Vs Chelsea (unbeaten in 1 game D)
Vs Arsenal (unbeaten in 2 games DW)
Vs Liverpool (unbeaten in 2 games WD)
Vs Spurs (unbeaten in 2 away games WLW)

That to me is excellent record against the top 5. Apart from Man U second half and the away game last season we are doing well and should be commended for our performances against these sides.

Yes I know these games were mainly last season, but then the personnel hasn't changed a great deal on the pitch so we can compare.

The OP has a right to air his views...even if they are totally incoherent and way off the mark.

Last night Everton were more organised in defence, incisive in attack and even had a little something called luck (about time). In my opinion Moyes out thought Jol, we came; soaked up a little pressure (fairly comfortably, as Stubbsy said post match) and hit them with a couple of well worked goals.

As ghost has said, with the addition of a couple more faces we have the ability and organisation to build on last seasons position, and fare pretty well in the Uefa.

Some people's cup is always half empty. If they can't enjoy a quality perfomance and result like last night then that is a shame for them. I for one, will be hoping for a repeat on Saturday, although hopefully not as many Fosters.
