His first game for us and he was lost with the pace of the game. It was far to fast for him. 2nd game and although still off the pace you could see the improvement ten fold. Don't think he would have had a problem slotting in after 1 or 2 more games and he showed enough positives to know he will be a beast for us.
He told Silva the manager, that he wasn’t ready to play, he wasn’t match fit for that first game, even though he was only used as a substitute. In the game he started you could definitely see the potential in him, good reader of the game, strong in the tackle and he spread the ball well. Looking forward to see him play, hopefully in the near future, as long as he is ready.

Two wins away from 5th.
Season is not over.

Also FA Cup still to play for. Its just I would rather be sensible with this lad as he could be the missing part. Delph and Davies would be my preferred partnership until he is absolutely ready. Hopefully by end of the season he is first choice and then anything could happen next season.

Apparently he was advised to have surgery but someone on our medical staff told him to let it heal by itself, low and behold he makes it worse and he's been out for months. Whoever gave him that advice wants bombing out the club. If you looking at are medical department across the board it absolute sham,Jesus one of our them tried to make Bolasie run off knee ligament damage.

Yeah I definitely question our medical team in general. We don’t ‘re-aggravate’ so many injuries by chance.

I think with the new found optimism around the place, it maybe the perfect opportunity for him to play, as I think he will be awarded time
Like with any new player from outside the prem, needs a good period of time to settle

We need to avoid putting too much pressure on him

Let's not forget that even before the injury he looked like he was going to need time to adapt to the league

Anyone thinking we can just plug him in and he'll be balling right away are going to be disappointed I think

We need to be patient and give him time

But he won't get patience or time. Already being touted on here as our first choice centre mid based on nothing at all. Will come into the side and do ok but won't be as dynamic as some want. Then instant derision.

Based on nothing but being signed as our first choice defensive midfielder and replacement for Gueye?

He will take time to adapt but he’s big, strong and athletic which means he’s a lot less of a risk in this league than someone less built.

OK happy to indulge you. You've seen him play approx 25mins of football to base that on. Agree with your second para wholeheartedly though.

Surely you agree that he was signed as our first choice central midfielder? I don't think anybody would dispute that would they? We don't pay £25m for players we don't intend to play, and he played both the games he was fit for. He was definitely supposed to be a key first teamer when we signed him.

Possibly . I think Silva/Brands hands were forced by Gana leaving. I think he would've been pivotal if fit.

I'm not sure what the dispute is here? I don't think many people are claiming that he's guaranteed to be amazing, just that he would probably be in our first choice midfield, because that's what we signed him for. You seem to agree with that, but you're arguing against other people thinking it?
