How can you rely upon a player most of us have never seen play and has not played in 12 months ?
Agree we cant but Brands en co hope he is fit soon because we spend big on this lad and the last thing we want is buying extra players because of injury uncertainty regarding him and Delph for example

I honestly can't even remember what he looks like...

When is he meant to be back next? Is it next YEAR or next season (September)?

The lad has been so unlucky so far.

Echo article today saying September

As the Blues' sifted through the wreckage of the weak-willed defeat to Wolves, complete with “unacceptable” attitude, and last night's uninspiring performance against Aston Villa, there was a name that was being spoken about: Jean-Philippe Gbamin.

For supporters, having hardly seen him kick a ball in anger over the course of just 135 minutes, it is very difficult to share the level of confidence that exists in the corridors of Finch Farm about the 24-year-old, whose season has been ruined by injury - but it's there.

Ancelotti expects him to be fit again in September, with the new campaign pencilled in to start on the weekend of September 12/13, and nothing has changed Everton's belief that he will be vital to the manager.

I's why the club are unwavering in their belief about Gbamin. Word from the training ground was that the towering midfielder had been training well, impressively so, after lockdown and just before his Achilles injury struck.

Ancelotti was said to be 'upset' at learning of the latest set-back. Perhaps he knew enough about Gbamin, even without having seen him play for the club, to fear the prospect of starting next season without him.
