Everton and Portsmouth want to sign Javier Saviola on loan from Real Madrid, who are amenable to sending the Argentina striker out on a short-term deal.

Not sure about this one. As a youngster he was one of many tipped to be the next Maradonna but he's never really lived up to his billing after joining Barca as a young lad. He's drifted about a bit lately. Saying that though he's scored goals at the highest level so may be a good bet. You'd think we would be more attractive than Pompey.

Hes not still at Madird is he. I remember him having an amazing season on loan at Monaco one year.

Yeah, Madrid signed him after his contract expired at Barca. He's been on loan to a few clubs though in the past few years and has never really recaptured the form from his early seasons at Barca.

I have said about him for a while, would be a quality signing. A Moyes special aswel, good player thats lost his way. Get him in!!!

Well I'm glad it's saying a loan at least it brings a little creedence to the report. I just don't feel it though. My crystal ball isn't clouding over.:D

Since his greatness predicted by FM never happened, we are the club that should actually get him, with our relationship with FM creators.

But seriously - he's only interested in money, and there's no way we can work out something to make his wage acceptable for us.
Plus he would only fit in Premiership team which is very good in retaining possession and plays tiki taka offense. We improved our passing game and ability to retain possession since Arteta moved to the centre of midfield, but we are still far away from being a team, where Saviola could fit nicely.

He wasnt on the bench for the game against Mallorca. Must be catching his flight to John Lennon, mustn't he?

He's at the Marriott already - just waiting for Riquelme to get in from Buenos Aires before they check out the Farm in the morning.
