Java Cup Cancelled

Says on the Echo website that the Java Cup is in doubt.

Galatassary pulled out, and were supposedly replaced by Uruguayan side Nacional.

Nacional have now pulled out as well.

Everton are supposed to be flying out today, but have said they're not going to unless they get assurances over who the 4th team in the tournament is, and also reassurances over logistical and security issues.

Sounds a right cock up. Better off just sticking to America in future pre-seasons, like the RS and Chelsea.

Feel sorry for anyone who paid for Indonesian trips if it is cancelled.

I've a mate who flew out on Sunday. He also travelled up to Dundee United last week and had to stay an extra night.

Tell me about it! I travelled up to Dundee early Wednesday on the train, and had a hotel booked for Wednesday night, returning on Thursday morning because I was back in work on the Friday.

Suffice to say, I missed the game because it was rearranged.

I tried to change my train ticket to just come home Wednesday afternoon once I heard it had been postponed, but because the tickets were cheaper bought in advance, it would have cost me £60 more to change them.

So I was stuck in Dundee for the night and missed the match completely.

That was bad enough, so I really feel for anyone who spends a £1000+ on going to Indonesia if it gets cancelled.

Nah, i'm pretty sure that it's just because Marseille dropped out, then Galatasaray dropped out. And they can't even confirm the team that is replacing Gala. I don't blame Everton for cancelling, pointless going over to end up playing just Malaysia XI and Indonesia teams.

They better replace these matches with 2 other friendlies though, they need to anyway, for fitness and match preparation
