2025/26 Jarrad Branthwaite

Just may be we should have taken the Utd moolah?

i really don’t understand this argument

in 2023 we didnt know he was going to get 3 hamstring injuries in 2025

united offered us £35mil, beans essentially for someone of his quality

i shudder to imagine how last season would have gone without him, would have been in a much direr position by time moyes came in

he will be fine

Just gotta hope the surgery solves this issue

Scar tissue and the mental side is the worry from then, but sport science has moved on a lot from Michael owen’s day
It remains a concern to me that while sports science has moved on I’m not sure we have , we should be looking after him with input / 2 nd opinions from the best in the world. At the other end of the scale I’m also suffering from a hamstring injury affecting my running so I was interested in reading the other day that Christian Pulisic has also suffered another low grade hamstring injury which was revealed by a MRI . Once these injuries occur the chance of another “ low grade tear “ appears to increase. Hopefully we can help him get on top of it permanently.

Well i guess one of the unforeseen issues with DCL going was the ‘medical’ team having more time on their hands to do their work on fresh blood….

If we sign a starting RB (which we need to do regardless) then JOB can move central. We still then need to buy a CB but it isn’t as costly as a starting 11 CB.
We will still have 3 reliable CBs. Jake hasn’t yet shown he should play week in week out as a PL CB, as well as he has done at RB. Tarky I love, but his poor games are now far more regular than they were. And the other is Keane, who has been possibly our best CB this season, but given he has an entire back catalogue of being poor, should we bank on his current run of form lasting 30 games.

RB is the issue that makes other issues worse for sure (playing JOB there, leading to no options other than Keane and Tarks, or moving our best deep MF to full back). But we need starters in both positions for me. We cannot go the season with Tarks, JOB and Keane as CBs even if we sign Cafu at RB. We will firstly be crap defensively, and will be a minor Finch Farm diarrhoea outbreak from moving Myko to CB, Iroegbunam to LB and god know what else.

Its a shame, but thats football, and no real shock. BUT his injury record is starting to look a concern.

Probably down to his body now settling after years him being a huge frame for a kid.

Fingers crossed he gets through it.
