2025/26 Jarrad Branthwaite

I know but nah, not this decision

I can at least hear arguments for starting Gana and for not playing Patterson or Dibling and putting people out of position instead but nobody is having Keane over Branthwaite ever
I expect it's a recuperation thing - but I am not giving Moyes the benefit of any doubt given the craziness he regularly employs all over his selections and the pitch.

Or is it let's play my favourites?
I am a big HA fan , but very unhappy to see him out wide right ?
He does play favourites and always has done (see Osman right wing for years) but I don’t think Keane is a favourite of his at all.
Keane was signed to be fourth choice CB but Moyes doesn’t trust Patterson so plays JOB there instead and then unfortunately Branthwaite has been injured for over half a year.

I can only imagine it’s because we’re playing Tuesday as well and Bournemouth play with more pace and they reckon Branthwaite can’t play both

As we should be taking him at his word when he says he has the final say on transfers, we should take his word on this. Recuperation - which is fair enough. Playing the likes of KDH out of position and picking that dubious right side while shoeing Gueye back in is where Moyes deserves brickbats.

I can only imagine this is because we play on tuesday and 2 games in 3 days is risky after a 8 month injury. We do need to make sure JB gets fully fit and stays fit. He's too good to lose to regular injuries.
Yes but why fit square pegs in round holes all over the park? Gabspa to je just disrupts our midfield- we had a great bkebd at Villa a midfield 3 & DM just does away with it?
Branthwaite is by far our best CB on the bench ?..?

I think his instructions & ideas are just how to stop Fulham playing ....

yeah there’s plenty to be mad about but not rushing our best player back after being out 8 months is not it

I don’t mind the negative stuff away really. Every team generally plays the same away. It’s about containment and countering and trying to nick a 1-0. It’s more the home games that do my head in.

Can see the reason for easing him back. Can’t see the reason why O’Brien can’t go into the middle and Patterson to right back.

He clearly likes O’Brien at right back. I’ve said it in another thread but I can genuinely foresee a world where O’Brien is our first choice right back going into next season, I think he’d play him ahead of actual right backs. It’s weird and I don’t understand it, but he’s clearly got O’Brien pegged as a right back that can provide cover at centre back rather than the other way around.
