2024/25 Jarrad Branthwaite

Reckon he’s the best Everton centre back this century?

Obviously Jags et al had the longevity, but in terms of quality I think he’s the best I’ve seen play for us by quite a big margin

To be fair, if Moyes is given £100m (number plucked out of my arse) + Branthwaite money, likely to be around £80m, plus whatever we can get for Beto, to build a new squad while keeping Pickford, Ndiaye, O'Brien, Garner, Armstrong, Chermiti, Mykolenko (he obviously isn't going anywhere), McNeil, I think with a bit of luck we could easily get 20+ extra points next season.

….i think he has the potential to leapfrog Stones as one of the best I’ve seen since the early ‘60s. I think @roy vernon is correct saying he could’ve played in our great title winning teams.

Really hope when he goes its not United.
Cant see it been there at all. Ive always thought it may be City myself if any english club. Man Utd dont it seems have the money and are worst off than most. Either way, we need to get the most from anyone if he ever did leave and get a lot of it upfront. I hate these deals were you get x amount after say winning a league,or a certain amount of International caps,or playing a certain amount of prem games etc - as you never see the full amount otherwise

I’d sell garner in a heartbeat, probably has a book price of 3mil so he could be decent profit. Also need much better than McNeil and Myko. Imagine getting 100m and still playing Myko and McNeil.

If you sell Branthwaite, then we should go
Big on purchases, or what’s the point in selling

Yeah I'd deffo sell him too as I see him as rather a nothing kind of player. Yeah we clearly need better than McNeil and Mykolenko, but there isn't going to be a clean sweep of the dirt amongst the squad in one summer, sadly.

Jags, Lescott, Distin, Stones.. Branthwaite can get there but he’s not that level yet.

McNeil at one point was our only source of goals and assists, whilst playing in the worst Everton side I’ve ever seen (football wise)

I’m not saying McNeil should be our starter, but giving his work rate, set piece delivery, creativity and long-range goal ability - he can still definitely be a useful guy in the squad.

Referring to him as dirt in the squad just feels really off.

(This is off topic to Branthwaite sorry but just proper irked me)

Feels like he's gone in the summer. I think the England omission has made him rethink his future here. He'll be on his way to one of the media darlings.

I think we've also decided he's the best chance to rebuild without massive investment.
