January Transfer Window 2026

Garner this season is testament to Moyes and his staff, he looked lost since we signed him, very inconsistent and not sure what his role was. They have clearly been coaching him and he has been excellent this season and looks like he knows what he is doing. I do like Gallagher too though.
Looked ok alongside Mangala, has looked even better alongside KDH. It's not coincidence there's other sides interested, not least because of his versatility. With more actual footballers confident with touch and in possession the players we have will come out of their shells.

- when you're a complete eye-test purist and your own eyes are so untrustworthy as to be tricked into thinking a player is a headless chicken just because they're hard-working
It was a several years ago but he had an notable loan spell at Palace where he was excellent at carrying the ball and launching attacks , created numerous goals and overall chances

Maybe, but if we have two FB berths and CF berth to fill more urgently then how likely is Gallagher's arrival when we have 4 KMs to choose from and 5 if you count Armstrong?

I agree the other positions are more important. But maybe if there was a chance to pick him up on loan they’d still go for it on the basis he still improves us.

I don’t think Moyes is having Alcaraz either, then you have a developing Tim who’s still a little in & out, and possibly an injury concerned Rohl & an ageing Gueye now at the end of his career.

There’s defo space for Gallagher in my view..

When I’ve watched Gallagher, I’ve never been impressed with him from a technical point of view. Feel he’s not so great on the ball and gives it away cheaply at times.
You can’t argue about his energy and non stop running though.
The non stop running is what we need. One of the reasons Sunderland are doing so well is that they bought players that can run all day!

When we face the top teams, the off the ball work the players have to get through is immense. Gallagher does that.

We also do have some craft in the team and could do with some more as im not sure he has a pass in him, but Gallagher would be an excellent addition

Hels a good player.

Cant see it though.
