January Transfer Window 2026

Would love to see Connor Gallagher come in alongside kdh and garner..very capable midfield those three, that could dominate midfield in terms of ability, work rate and aggression.
But we do need a right back and striker as priority. Definitely a striker able to hold the ball up far better than what we have currently, and hopefully they can finish better than Barry and Beto.

I think we need a boss CM more than anything, someone that is even better than Garner and someone that can replace Gueye because his replacement really ought to be on the agenda already.

For the remainder of this season Garner can be used as a RB; he's not the best there but he is capable of actually delivering a cross into the box and we really need that.

I'm not denying the need for new fullbacks and a striker etc, but I just don't think we are strong enough at CM, and finding and purchasing a quality but out of favour CM may be easier, and more beneficial, than searching for these elusive fullbacks and centre forwards that are seemingly like needles in haystacks.
I have no idea which is easier to find but I've said before I'd be equally as happy with a new 6 in Jan, and moving Garner, as I would a new RB. Upgrades both areas with one transfer.

I'm not unhappy with moving Garner to RB but it has to be a permanent move otherwise any time there's an injury to a midfielder Moyes puts Garner in there and JOB back to RB .

Isnt Garner out of contract soon (summer IIRC)? BBC Gossip had forest sniffing after him in January

These sort of versatile players are very handy over a season with injuries etc

The same would apply if Garner got injured. This just highlights Garner's utility, and why we should take advantage of it. So if funds are tight, or at least limited, I think we should focus on improving the central midfield.
