January Transfer Window 2026

….prolific goalscorers do notice the considerable difference in quality of defenders and goalkeepers the higher they go. The very best continue to produce but it can be a struggle for the majority. With a player like Parrot, much depends on the price.
I do agree there.

As @Nymzee correctly pointed out, I did not argue the point he was making as I got far too hung up on him saying that the Eredivisie is not a serious league which got me negatively excited a bit too much early in the morning 🙈

I’ll quit if we pay 60 million on a McTom.

I dont really understand the McTominay links. looking at it subjectively he is playing for a team in the top 4 of the serie A, he has won a title there, playing in the champions league and earning around £100k a week, why would he come back to England? I could understand if he was going to another champions league team and they were going to pay him £150k or £200k a week, but surely we are not going to pay him that?

Because it`s click bait nonsense, for all the reasons you point out above.

It would be like going back to the days of the Sigurdson signing, as a signing like this, would send ripples throughout the whole team with his wages.

Come contract time, others would want parity with his wages and just like that, we`re back to the Moshiri era.

It`s not happening.

Who’s Royal ?

And Dibling is a young lad , he’s 19 ffs
What do you want him to do rip it up every week, also our 2 best players play in his position. I’d rather be spending on young players, than these late 20/30yr olds for big money who were second rate, like Bolaise and Walcott etc. Moyes bought a few of them at West Ham like ward prowse for 30mil.
Let’s hope we’ve seen the last of that
Royal was Rohl.

We just spent more than that on 19yr old Dibling who's not playing much/very well :)

That money brings in one or two genuine players at RB/LB.

Means garner can play MF and be fresh legs etc there.

Summer wasn't good. To go for Adnan, Dibling and Rohl at the same time was unnecessary. Adding Barry and I really question our scouting and decision making there.

I've always maintained huge gratitude and respect for V1 Moyes AND the impact last Jan/Feb.

He can develop players too as he did before.

I would even consider letting Jarrad go if it solves a full back and CF gap, given progress of JOB and interest in other young CBs.

Jan is admittedly a crazy time to fix summer mistakes, and Moyes sides here traditionally figured better in latter season when clubs in Europe and cups tire...

He is not the player we need ,he hits it first time ,can score with both feet and knows how to be in the right place . He needs to learn how to miss easy chances and slow the game down ,then get his club to set an over inflated price .
Totally agree.

Shows a bit too much passion and excitement for me,too.

I need to see blank, mildly confused expressions when key chances to win games go begging.

If I was TFG I wouldn’t give Moyes a penny, he’s not here long term and we need a strategy that will benefit a new modern manager to build something with. Moyes wasted a fortune at West Ham
