What’s needed to win games like tonight:
New left back who can attack and defend with pace, right back with the same profile and a striker with good positional sense, good control and who knows where the net is.
It’s going to be a long season without any of these.

Rb and cf top priority...I would get another defensive midfield...not sure there would be enough money for much more even though we could and we should improve other positions.

it's been said a couple times but, man, that 40m for Dibbling looks like it would have been better spent on a striker and the ~22m on Barry looks like it could have been better spent on a RW player.

This is how we end up getting nowhere. Everybody would love a class forward but they don't grow on trees. Fix the other positions and suddenly your players become more effective. We are far too centrally focused right now and get next to no service apart from Grealish who has to do it in isolation where the play stops. That is the reason we struggle.

It’s very very hard to win games without an effective striker. Along with goalkeeper it’s the most important position on the field. I think our current options are the worst I can remember in my entire time as an Everton fan. Victor Anichebe would easily be our first choice striker at the moment. A striker can completely change the way we attack.

For me:
There are 2 types of signings
Manager signings 'ready to go' e.g. a Moyes (similiar to Emery) signing: KDH, Grealish (Tielemans, Torres, Diaby)
Club signings 'young hopeful' which the manager will agree to work with e.g. Barry, Dibling and Anzou. (Garcia, Rogers, Moreno)
Success looks like getting that 2nd category to work..often it doesnt but sometimes it does

Club signings ‘young hopeful’ who everyone wants over the above but get written off after 4 weeks on social media and by drunk idiots at night matches because they haven’t acclimatised to the PL in a month.
