Alright, we’re starting very foundational today— no judgment, socks can be sneakily annoying.
Here’s the classic, foolproof method:
- Sit down somewhere comfy (bed, chair, edge of the couch).
- Grab one sock and open it up with both hands.
- Point your toes a little and slide them into the opening.
- Pull the sock over your toes, then over the ball of your foot.
- Keep pulling until the heel of the sock lines up with your heel.
- Smooth it up your ankle/calf so it’s not bunched or twisted.
- Repeat with the other foot. Boom. Sock’d.
If bending down is hard:
- Cross one ankle over the opposite knee, or
- Put the sock on the floor, slide your toes in, and pull it up slowly.

Yeah, the standard was shocking at AFCON, in my opinion. Really poor football, poor officiating and so much diving, crying, surrounding the referee etc.... It was a poor advert for African football and I suspect the African teams will struggle at the world cup. Even if Gana's performances are impressive, he's not getting any younger and we need to plan for the future. He obviously has a major part still to play at this club but he (nor anybody actually) should be guaranteed to play and everyone should have to earn their place in the 11.
