Our main striker has scored four in eight and is in relatively good form. We’ve still only scored 9 total goals in those 8 games. Why is signing a striker going to fix anything? I’m seeing article talking about Callum Wilson and En-Nesyri. What a mess.

Well, we cant just depend on one striker. What happens if Barry gets injured?

Yes he’s playing well but I wouldn’t go that far.

He’s inconsistent but would be a good addition for Preston who are pushing for promotion.

If theres even a 1% of rom coming back then we have to be all over it....

He might not be the prime level we had when he left but he'd easily get 6-10 goals and would allow Barry time and less pressure to adapt

I know he's got long term fitness issues, but in terms of an older striker that Barry can learn from you couldn't do much better than Big Rom.

Would 100% still get goals coming on for last 20-30 mins of games. We wouldn't pay his wages just for that though.

This should in no way impact whatever we're doing in the transfer market this month. None whatsoever.

Nah, if there's an offer on the table for Beto we should take it and try someone new.

Agree that it's not a priority though, fullbacks and a 10 for me.

He has lost control of his own legs while trying to run with the ball on numerous occasions and provides only comedy value with his back to goal.

The question of how good Barry is, is an open question. I mean that in the true sense as it could go really either way, but that said he is showing signs of finishing. And even in showings where goals haven't been there he is capable of linking play in the final third.

I've said this for months, but the most important thing to figure out in the squad is what Barry is or could be, more clearly longterm with the remainder of this season. I dont see the point of paying the January tax on the position that is already always inflated when the status quo of Barry has to be more understood.

Where the funds should go is fullbacks who actually can serve supply for a striker who has good anticipation on runs, and for our creative wingers to leverage and work off of. Goals come from supply as much as finishers. We play in the final third with an absolute absence of essentially two attackers compared to modern status quo.

Yeah I imagine wages will be an issue, can see him moving to Saudi to be honest.

Btw @TheBigIguana thought be good idea to sell garner for 30 mill, be v difficult to get a replacement for that now...
