January Transfer Window 2026

"The Fiorentina midfielder Edoardo Bove is being treated in intensive care after collapsing on the pitch during the team’s Serie A match against Internazionale on Sunday"
Seems he was okay but nevertheless a worry, but then we did sign Barry with his shoulder hanging off.
Doesn't he have a permanent defibrillator device now, like Christian Eriksson?

Just been sent this from my aunties hairdressers fella who knows someone down the pub that worked with someone 5 years ago who’s auntie used to go out with a fella who’s a steward.

Make of that what you will

The whole argument that playing Patterson leaves us too vulnerable defensively falls apart a bit when you realise not playing Patterson means we have to play Keane.

….the same Keane who has been one of our better players this season. Regardless, there is always the option of playing Rohl at RB, we don’t ’have to play Keane’ if Patterson continues to be benched.

Exactly this, but people have got blinkers on with Keane, even though we know it all goes to hell at some point when he’s in the side, and it always will.

This is the same Keane who’s been, according to some “terrific”, “outstanding” and other wondrous adjectives, all because he’s not been as much as a disaster as we all feared.

Then he has his usual dreadful games but nobody seems to care or want him out the side.

It’s baffling.
Yeah have to be honest, it's been driving me mad this season. Maybe Evertonians love an underdog redemption arc a bit too much?
Whatever the reason is, there's a definitely a large section of supporters who are ignoring a big elephant in the room when discussing Keane this season.

I personally can articulate exactly why it is I think Keane is not a good defender, is an unsettling presence in the back line and all of that. Even if you can't see or don't agree with all of that stuff though, the pure data of goals conceded with him in the team vs without him in the team should be impossible to ignore tbh.

Mixed messages coming out of club atm in regards to players coming in, but I would be absolutely shocked and very disappointed if a right back doesn't come in to address this issue.

I heard we at scouts at a recent Swansea game to watch a young lad who can play right back and central midfield. Don’t know names just that we had someone watching.
Well he wouldn’t walk straight into the team without an OAP bus pass so it’s not really an issue for this transfer window.

Needless to say, in an ideal world I wouldnt be watching Patterson or Keane start tonight.

I'd be happy to see Rohl given a go there and JOB moved into the middle, he's got the pace to get up and down but passing would be a bit of a worry.

Does leave us short in midfield if someone picks up an injury or a booking though, hard to say what Moyes will view as being more risky with the squad this stretched.

Do we have an ICU at any of our training facilities?

Edoardo Bove: "My goal is to return to football in June. If I decide to keep the internal defibrillator, I can't play in Italy. I can play almost everywhere abroad. But doctors tell me there is a possibility for me to remove it. Football is too important for me. I will not give up."

Maybe the plan is for him to possibly play here until it can be removed?

He wants to play with his diff in, we could do with some depth…I can see an everLOAN here

…cardiac arrest and not allowed to play in Italy. Terrific young player, I know a few on here particularly liked him.
Yeah, he did look like a prospect. Really tenacious in the tackle, energetic and seemed to read the game and position himself well for a young player.

Looked like he'd suit English football down to the ground.

He's lost about a year of his career now though, poor kid.
