January Transfer Window 2026

He IS the Watford Captain.
No idea what you are on about not getting a game.

Tom Fellows can’t even get a game for Southampton and he was the solution to all our problems on this thread not too long ago.

Simm and Broadhead seem to be quite prolific in the Championship. Were they binned for PSR? (In which case spending £60M to “replace” them was a massive waste of money). I’m guessing we weren’t clever enough to have buy-back clauses for these two?

Personally I’d be all over Femi Aziz at Millwall, or perhaps a low-ball off for Esse at Palace who seems to be out of favour.

Not that I’m supporting the signing of Imran Louza but read he’s got 6 goals and 7 assists in 21 games..

In what appears to be about pretty solid Watford side.

I reckon both stories would've been completely different had they ended up here. Think Delap may still end up here one day.
I mean I wouldnt be shocked if it ended up very similar to KDH. Could see a lot of grounds for both parties in constructing a deal. And considering what they got him for in contrast to price inflation for the position, simply agreeing to the same terms this summer or marginally below what Chelsea signed him for just like Dewsbury Hall could make a lot of sense for both us and them.

I personally I could accept us going in at 30 million. 100k a week and a year older, with no success this year, a slight price cut is I think warranted. But I could easily see Chelsea agree to that based on recent business. They seem fine taking marginal losses if it means they can reallocate very quickly.

I just saw the Maresca sack lol, that would likely change this. Does the club blame him for signing Delap, or him not getting the best out of him...

Femi Azeez is a great shout

Maresca had no say in transfers apparently as that area was all about club policy

I don't deny that but I do think there were mitigating circumstances for all parties involved. One the club thought Jackson was underperforming, two Delap had what was widely seen as a massive under evaluation with his buy out clause, and three Maresca had a longstanding history with him.

Hedge fun Chelsea, buying a player at the most coveted position at a discount fits the model. They i'm sure were interested in their own right but 35 million is marginal to them. By all reports Enzo was the lasting variable for Delap to sign, who basically could call his shot.

I dont think it was a Maresca signing but in a way it also wasn't a Chelsea one IMO. They simply saw a value proposition that could likely be executed by having the Manager they had and saw no reason not to do it.

But I don't think any of us would be shocked if Chelsea cut bait at essentially even.

Ohh definitely Delap will be sold if they get a good return on their investment but it'll be in the summer at the earliest
