January Transfer Window 2026

McAtee is a strange one really because he left City to get first team football and hasn’t played in a poor performing team. Could he actually make the move here now and re start?
Would he get first team football here? I wouldn't mind having him on the roster but at the moment I think we are better off spending our money on other positions than a rotating midfielder. Especially since he would cost us probably over 20 mill.

….dare I say it, maybe a few positive signs from Barry in respect of his all around play. It would be good to have another option but the summer window might actually turn out ok (despite me being one of the ones suggesting otherwise).

I feel we’re fine in CM areas, especially with Armstrong available (probably next season) and on the wing. Clearly the major issue is at full-back and more significantly at RB.

I think any player improves us right now as we have none. Haha.
We do. And 4 points from 6 isnt terrible. The other was an Arsenal game where they barely laid a glove on us without our AFCON losses and KDH. I think barring full backs we're ok and due to this a quiet window (shocker) is likely.

I'm not feeling the positivity for Barry I'm afraid.

He took his goal well, no doubt, but his overall play prior to that was poor I thought

….Moyes summarised his performance well, something along the lines of; “he’s getting better. There were a few occasions in the first half where he lost out and it put us under pressure but parts of his play were good and the goal was important’.

I thought he might be bullied by their CBs but I’m seeing a few positive signs that surprise me. The left foot strike at Burnley, little run down the line, cut inside and pass early in the game last night plus the ball out to Garner then continued his run into the area for the goal.

Agree, still some way to go but much improved from that awful first half against Palace.

He’s starting to come deeper looking for the ball and getting involved in starting moves like for his goal last night. I typically don’t love that in a striker but it seems more part of his natural game based on what I saw of his highlight vids before he joined.

I wouldn’t put the house on him being our first choice for years to come at this stage, but I’d rather keep him round as a squad option than Beto.

If we wanted a proper Moyes striker then I maintain we should sniff around Strand Larsen from Wolves, although I don’t imagine that’s worth doing until the summer when relegation is confirmed.
