January Transfer Window 2026

Your correct about the physicality and going to war with the opposition, but that can be coached/acclimatised by playing more and realising how little time you get.

My main worry with Barry has been he hadn't shown anything like I'd expect a striker to - a turn of pace, beat a man, get a shot away etc. On Saturday he done all 3 and I've got to say I was pleasantly surprised and relieved to see it. That's given me a bit of a hope.

I can't believe how poor Beto has been, I think back to his away performance against Palace where he used himself as a battering ram, made a nuisance of himself, brought others into play, scored a goal and nearly had another. Compare that to this season where he's been static, bullied off the ball far too easily, has barely looked a goal threat and when the chances have come (Villa at home, Palace at home) has missed glaringly easy chances. It looks to me like his race is run at Everton and it's time for him to move on. If he finishes with 1 league goal, is that the worst return of an Everton number 9 since numbers were introduced i wonder?

Either way, they've both been a huge disappointment but I'm hopeful that little snippet from Barry on Saturday, that he follows that up with a goal tomorrow. He should have a bit of confidence as he scored against them 3 weeks ago so he knows what to expect.

Moyes has told the lads to treat him as they would with the opposition in training, maybe a few Tarks belters might wake him up a bit to the physical side..

Work on his positioning and feed him the chances, he might end up being total pooh, but if we don't give him opportunities, can he be held totally accountable..

When someone throws a name out, yep, I like it. that's what it's about.

When people start throwing 3/4/5 names in a single post, lining up a new set up and even what to do with the younger of those players, eg loaning back, or even naming the club to loan them to.

I mean really 🤔

Personally, I would not take too much notice of anything on this thread. Largely a wish list of nonsense and unlikeliest transfers imaginable.

Best just hold your counsel and support whoever we buy - or loan - another task that seems impossible for many on here.

One often sees players touted and even bought, then to be rubbished by the proponent of purchase in such threads!

Arsenal looking to bring in players in January according to Arteta. Ndiaye linked before with them.

As good as he is, if Everton could get a desperate price off Arsenal we should think about taking it before his value drops.

It'd allow us to bring Dibling through and get a RB and CF in.

Obviously a big a decision if it comes to it.

Still plenty of time on his contract.
We hold the cards here.

Not going anywhere...

£80m would be reasonable but they wouldn't go anywhere near that, probably a 'cheeky' £33m. Maybe we could negotiate £50m plus Merino or Martinelli or something.

Still, we've apparently got money and are under no obligation to sell anybody, he's on a long contract — don't even consider selling!

That's a decision you make in a summer not January

I dont think those Arsenal players who could be on course fr a CL and/or PL success would like to be makeweights for Ndiaye.

No, but if they offered £80M and we had players lined up it'd make sense. But then its down to whether you trust a club who's CEO tells the manager that 1 out 3 sigings will be successful to make the right signings.

Agreed on all of the above. We'd end up with three Betos and the money would be gone.

If you get a ridiculous offer for a player in demand from a desperate club then the timing is right at any time as long as you're not selling your PL status away.

We should be going into this window with 1-3 targets set up for both FBs and the CF position in the event we get such a stupid bid for Ndiaye.
