January Transfer Window 2026

I cannot believe there isn't a striker at the club in the u23s or below that is showing even a hint of promise. It doesn't take much to look better than what we've currently got in the first team squad, yet there apparently isn't another striker anywhere in the football club.

There best be a striker lined up ready to join the club in the first week in January.

I'm not even sure if a season-ending injury to Barry or Beto would instill any urgency into bringing in a new striker. It's like the club has accepted that there are no right backs or strikers in world football willing to join us.

Going into the season with proven awful Beto and completely unproven Barry was criminal enough, to allow further games to pass in an open transfer window would be incredible.

Remember Moyes is absolutely dreadful with centre forwards.

The only ones he's done well with (apart from Bent and Beckford) were Johnson & Yakubu.

Both signed for big money at the time. I dont think he's ever signed a top CF in his career, though he did spend a lot on Scamacca who didnt do well for him at West Ham.

Yakubu wasn’t a top striker???

@Nymzee oh i see what ive done.

I was trying to say Beckford & Bent were good at the time for us.

But he only ever signed Johnson & Yakubu for big money who were top centre forwards.

In his entire managerial career i dont think hes ever signed a 3rd? Nor has he developed one into a star.

So if we want a CF the owners need to give Moyes a huge amount of money to sign one. Even then, he blew money on the likes of Scamacca and Beattie.

Very hit and miss with Moyes.

Im still worried looking at the £300-400mil or whatever it was at West Ham he spent in 4 seasons on players.

They were still covering those fees when he left which was their spiral into doom.

I just hope Moyes is not trusted with any transfer money we may have, based on the players he brought in this year. What a waste of money that was.
Was not just moyes not sure why people still saying it cant see him wanting aznou for example and prob agreed on others barry rohl who previous looked at. He wanted mcginn and also turned down webster from brighton for keane to stay on. Will have a big say on players bought in but will not be getting it all his way

I kno the club bought in young players a striker who has looked good but still far away from the first 11 at this moment

People slate Moyes for wanting ‘proven Prem’ players. I mean can you blame him? Only KDH and Grealish have contributed at all of our summer signings. He’s signed off on Travers, Asnou, Dibling, Rohl, Alcaraz, Barry - and I bet he regrets every one of them.
He could at least play bother to play them to find out.

You know how many strikers currently in any Premier club academy that are ready to immediately step up and lead the line in a premier league club? I would say maybe 1 or 2 players and they would still need tine to adapt to rigors of the league and they're probably playing for one of the sky six academies. The gap between the under 21s and the premier is immense. I get that your frustrated but this is just fantasy

Or what ?you'll launch 6 tirades about the club a day instead 5?

The one I really liked - beside Yakubu when he was fit - was Landon Donovan. I think he was a huge missed opportunity when we couldn't keep him.

Mind you, saw him lamenting losing his hair like he lost a limb recently and thought "for the best" in hindsight...
