God no, makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. The club hasn't learned a thing, Ings, Antonio etc. all over the hill players that might come for a last pay day but will proivde nothing but a money sink for the club, not even justifying it with performing on the pitch.

I don’t think some are engaging with the reality of our financial situation.
We can’t compete with any other team in the league. We’re getting blown out the water by Forest, Bournemouth, Wolves and the like.
We’re in full Villa Randy Lerner managed decline. The board have waved the white flag.
Anyone we get will just be whoever is left over that clubs around us didn’t want and so we’ve managed to get a loan or deferred payment deal.
When you’re signing players that far down the priority list with such restrictions, you end up with what you can get rather than who you actually want - hence the Dwight McNeil’s of this world.

Think we'd need to offer the lad at least £250k a week for him to even consider the cesspit that we are atm
he’s not going to play for Brighton again. He will be desperate for a move. Will teams like Spurs or Arsenal want him? I doubt it. But we are a bigger club than Brighton. We have tk stop thinking just because of our league position we couldn’t and or can’t attract players. We are bloody Everton Football club.
